I don’t remember much about the special, only watched it the year it came out. Whenever that was. The album is plenty enough Christmas Kacey for me
The version of "Ribbons And Bows" from the special is awesome. The rotating room set is really cool. Also "Glittery" is only on the special and that song is also good
I make my whole family watch the Christmas special while we open gifts every year. I love it. As for the music, I love all her original songs. The covers are fine.
Something about this song just hit me. Last year was difficult for me at times where I had to do a lot of growing, which was hard at times. I’m in a way better place with stronger relationships with the people in my life. Had an Amazon gift card from Christmas and grabbed the exclusive
I have a 3 year old firmly in the Disney phase, and Frozen is on rotation. Thst song rules, Kacey or otherwise. Such a nice dolly melody that fits her perfectly, and I’m glad they didn’t try to overproduce it and kept it simple for her.
If we're doing album orderings, I'd be interested in people's top 5 songs. I would say my number 1 is Back On The Map - I think "country emo ballad" Kacey is probably my favourite Kacey. I think I'd struggle to pick apart the rest though..
Can’t really think of a proper top five. But, I do find it funny that, while Pageant Material is clearly below Golden Hour and Same Trailer Different Park for me, “Somebody to Love” is probably my favorite Musgraves song. Sometimes a simple slower song just hits, lol, and that’s that for me. And, “Dime Store Cowgirl” would be a solid top five contender, probably?
Her openers (besides “star crossed”) are definitely 3 of my favorites of hers. But I’d have to think about a true top 5.
Also just realized that the Deeper Well cover is in line with Golden Hour and Pageant Material. Hopefully a good sign. The Red, Blue and Green albums if you will (each with one prop).
