Also I think it makes sense she's not as witty on this. You have to have some clear observations to write like that, and it's pretty evident that she is/was in a stage of finding herself again and was feeling a little lost when writing this. Which is why Anime Eyes works for me because it's like she's saying she found the color again.
Had a dream she performed at a local bookstore with Minus the Bear and I became friends with her and we smoked weed together lol
I like this but it's definitely the least I've enjoyed one of her albums on first listen. There were only a few songs that really stood out to me.
I’ve listened to this roughly 4x now and it’s definitely growing on me a lot. Every listen brings a new appreciation for a different song.
This album is absolutely incredible. I liked it a lot right away, but I've been listening to it a lot for me and I am absolutely in love with it now. Also, the bonus track you get when you buy it on her site 'Ruthless' is awesome.
Yeah, this is shaping up to be my favorite Kacey album too, just a wonderful and pleasant listen. Gets better every time too.
It’s crazy cuz I caught the JID melody immediately but assumed it was just a coincidence. Great record and it’s growing on me a lot
I did almost exactly this on Sunday (was definitely not warm but wasn’t terrible and was running not walking) and my only nitpick / recommendation is to make sure you’re paying attention to the ground. I tend to get very caught up in the lyrics and the stories in songs, especially with Kacey’s work so I found myself so entranced by that happening that I almost took a few spills from rocks, roots and holes because of it. But overall is a very beautiful record to enjoy in such a setting!
