Pop Star Academy on Netflix is really good

 

I haven't watched Pop Star Academy, but I heard there was a lot of shading each other and now it feels awkward that they're in a group together? Is that true?

It may not appeal much to non-ARMY, but Are You Sure?! on Disney+ is my comfort show right now. 50% eating and 50% maknae line chaos, I'm obsessed.

 

I wouldn't say they really shade each other. It's kinda hard to explain, but I think all the girls genuinely like each other, minus the ones who aren't in the group. It's a really good behind the scenes look at what all goes into building the brand of a manufactured k-pop group. I think everyone in this thread would be into it.

 

shout out to Le Sserafim and HYBE for actually showing respect to Ballroom culture and putting several dancers in the video

i like CRAZY but i'm not *cough* crazy about the b-sides, which is rare for a Le Sserafim release

 

This 5 episode documentary is really good, they're very blatantly real and honest in a way I don't see in a lot of groups.

That LE SSERAFIM EP is really good. Up there with the Easy EP, definitely.

 

yeah, the new song is good and all, but their The Fifty EP and Cupid were so outstanding that i always just feel so bittersweet/bummed about how things turned out

and i saw that the 3 former members have signed to a new label?? AND they're planning on filing a NEW lawsuit against Attrackt?? will this ever end???

 

That song has been stuck in my head non stop since it came out. Probably because every morning when I scroll through IG there's ten new dance reels of the same 15 seconds hah

this recent newjeans info dump has made me even more worried about the future of them. This all just sucks.

 

They're being manipulated so much, it's disturbing. They literally demanded that Hybe reinstate MHJ and the other person being charged by a certain date. I really like their music, and hope they can get help to realize that they're being used (though that doesn't seem likely if their parents are on MHJ's side), but I cant be supportive of what they're trying to do here.

 

jeeeez, i just looked up what happened. i hate everything about what's going on.

i really don't wanna see this group languish and not reach their full potential.
all this stupid bullshit that's going on isn't the girls' faults, but they're absolutely suffering for it

i don't really know if i agree w the idea they're being "manipulated" necessarily but they are def v impressionable and MHJ absolutely uses that fact.
but i also know that while i highly dislike how MHJ has conducted herself and some of the things she's said and done- you can't argue that NewJeans' success isn't intrinsically tied to her. and i'm sure the members connection to her is genuine as well.

this just sucks all around

ALSO, i like Jennie's new song a lot (maybe the most of their solo releases?)

 

I think I like it the most out of all of them too, it's phenomenal

 

I have (contrarian) opinions about the newest Itzy release, I think it's a lot of fun even if it's not as good as the last couple

But I will say that the bside "Imaginary Friend" is maybe among their best songs ever???

 

I've been so behind on K-Pop, my wife doesn't keep me up to date like she used to haha, but Itzy have always been one of my favorite groups so I'm excited to check that out.
