I have really mixed feelings about the album. I respect what his intention is, and think the songs are pretty good, but they also don't have the emotional connection that the other members solo albums had. And Jungkook has written some amazing songs.

new Stray Kids is fucking fire, EP slaps
new Red Velvet is fire, and the TT isn't even the best song on the album, they fuckin killed it again
new Aespa ALSO slaps, though i'm not as enamored by the b-sides like i am the last two (which is a high bar admittedly)

Also went to see Everglow in DC and it was so much fun, very nice venue and staff there too, great vacation overall and I'm glad I actually got a chance to see Everglow when I thought for sure this time last year they'd be disbanded

 

Been listening to Kiss Of Life a lot lately, a new group as of this year from S2. Their new release was fantastic and they sound very fresh-in-kpop yet familiar in a similar way to the retro approach of NewJeans but in an entirely different direction. And they are STACKED with vocal talent, Belle and Natty are wonderful singers. Very easily my favorite new group from this year.

 

I thank TikTok partially to making me fall in love with standing next to you with the dance and stuff but goddamn what a track. It has some insanely good vibes and he kills the choreo.

If anyone's interested I made playlists for some of my favorite songs of 2023 in kpop. It was near impossible to narrow down to 60 each so even now there's a ton missing that I enjoy but yeah

lately I’ve of course been listening to a lot of newjeans but now I added le sserafim and kiss of life both got some great tracks

 

yeah, listened to the new Itzy (just once so far) and it's really good all the way through. hope JYP keeps it up, lol. i've been back and forth on the last few of their releases.

 

I'm really enjoying the new SF9 EP!

yeah, if you like NewJeans then you should check Le Sserafim, they're really good. dope them and Ateez are gonna be at Coachella (even tho i don't care for that festival)

 

OH god don't even get me started on Fifty Fifty's drama, lmao

well, we'll see how ATTRACKT can rebuild the groups image with Keena and whomever else they get to join- i imagine it'll be a minute since now they'll have to train up the new members with her to get them all to a good spot, hope they don't rush it

Le Sserafim is so good, I really hope they play more shows when they come here for Coachella. There's absolutely no way it would be anywhere near me, but I can dream right.

IU's music isn't really for me (I like her as a person and an actress though), but that music video omg
