yeah and yg says that ikon is also coming back next month and that they have priority over blackpink so i really think theres no way they comeback in january. i wouldnt mind their absences so much if they gave us more songs at a time, can we please get at least a mini this time? its crazy that theyve been around for almost a year and a half and are one of the top groups yet we've only gotten a total of 5 songs from them.

 

I personally can't wait for their debut album, consisting of the five songs we've already had and two new songs.

I guess the good thing about the long wait is the songs are always really good whereas there are definitely some groups that put out music more often and listening through a mini I'll hear one or two songs I don't care for much, whereas I haven't had that with Blackpink (or WINNER since they shrunk and adopted the same release schedule I guess?), and we also seem to get MVs for all of them, which admittedly isn't that big a deal but I still enjoy them.

But I'd definitely appreciate a world where they put out more than 1(!) song in a calendar year.

I'm just gonna pretend that this a F(x) comeback.

 

i was hopeful for this since it's probably the closest thing we'll ever get to a new f(x) song but i don't like it :'(

although if they managed to get amber on board with this that's a potentially good sign for the possibility of a comeback, now they just have to convince krystal to give being an idol another go, and find victoria, wherever in china she might be.

 

oh my girl's comeback is topping the charts, it's finally happening for them :')

i really like that song, ive heard good things about the album but haven't gotten around to it yet. lots of stuff has come out this month, ive really liked the new chungha single and that new momoland song that's been kind of trendy. the fromis (group that came out of idol school) debut is also surprisingly solid, doesn't seem to be getting much attention though. sunmi was kind of a disappointment. looking forward to new red velvet and loona in the coming weeks.

also mix nine (yg's version of produce 101) ended today, the girls got a pretty nice top 9 lineup but ultimately lost to the boys top 9 (which was expected) so they won't be debuting which is a shame.

 

it's so fucking good, red velvet has really been hitting it out of the park. new loona single on the other hand was a massive disappointment.

 

I stopped listening to CLC so I was not expecting much, but I ended up liking it.

yeah the winner songs are pretty nice, they kind of remind me of the stuff on their first album. second full length when?

also olympics are starting so kpop is gonna be sort of dead for the new couple of weeks, there's like no releases happening.

My wife was excited when they played Big Bang and BTS during the olympic opening ceremoney last night.

 

Been listening to this Red Velvet album a lot after hearing Bad Boy on some playlist. It scratches my 00s R&B itch.

 

Already new ikon soonish and I really liked their new album.

New CLC and WJSN were meh.

 

new wjsn song is my favorite of theirs since secret so im pretty happy with it. dont really care for new clc though i didnt think it was bad.

 

I like it, but the melody sounds really familiar.

i was expecting a ballad for bb's last track but i was really pleasantly surprised. got7's one is pretty good. not a big fan of the nct one (might grow on me) but i like some of the stuff they put out in the leadup to this album. really mad though that the album ended up just being the pre-release tracks, touch, and a bunch of really old tracks. i was expecting a bunch of new tracks with all sorts of member combinations. also sm said kun was finally debuting in nct and he's nowhere to be found outside of the chinese version of "without you".

also i find this both really sad and very funny but the group that won mix nine and was supposed to debut under yg is maybe not debuting at all now. theyve been waiting for word from yg but the only thing he tells them is that they'll debut eventually but that he's focused on his own groups now. but they have a limited time contract and time is running out. seems like yg saw his show flopped, cut his losses, and opted to not debut them. i feel bad for the members since they put in a lot of time and effort (some taking time off from their main groups) for something that could have been really great exposure, that will now probably never happen.

 

some good news on the yg front though: winner’s 2nd full length comes out on april 4th
