i think it was a really good idea for the group to disband at this point, they were already reaching a point in their career where they were losing a lot of impact, "i like that" did well enough to technically be called a hit but wasnt even close to their peak. theyve managed to avoid seeming like a forgotten group by overstaying their welcome and in some 5+ years a reunion will be greeted with much more enthusiasm. starship is probably scared to death right now though i wouldnt count on fx being around much longer. amber has been very public about her beef with sm, victoria is barely in korea anymore and krystal seems to be gearing up for a solo debut while luna already had hers. at this point i think its very unlikely theyll release anything else.
haaaa i'm so bummed then, f(x)'s last release was one of my favorite pop albums of hte last few years. they had a consistent discography as well
The screenshot could be fake, but I still think it's funny towards the obsessive fangirls. T.O.P’s supposed weed pal, Han Seo Hee, “You fucking bitches. Yes I hugged & kissed your oppas.” - Asian Junkie
anyone keeping up with the new season of produce 101? they just did the concept evaluation so we got the 5 tracks they did. some of these are pretty good, never and i know you know are particularly great and never is currently topping the charts for some reason i cant find the official video for the last track
chungha's solo debut is really good, its a shame about the rap part in the middle. new wjsn single is pretty dull, havent heard the full album yet. also the exid mini that came out earlier in the year is surprisingly solid,p i avoided it because of how little i liked their music the past two years but the new one is a really strong change of pace
oh dang that rap part makes it sound like a generic "feat. Sean Paul" song, too bad. I'll check out the EXID mini album even if the full lenght wasn't... good
I used to love listening to Kpop, I am a huge fan of Super Junior, 2ne1, Bigbang, Girl Generations and more. The majority of the Kpop song that is on my playlist comes from the Korean series that I have watched. Like, for example, this one:
all great groups (though im very hot and cold with super junior). and wow dream high, definitely a throwback. never watched the second one though. have you heard got7? two of the dream high 2 actors are in it and theyve gotten really big i really want to hear this but im at work. got tickets for his concert though
Haven't listened to G7 music, but yes JB and Jinyoung were part of the cast. Super Junior will make a comeback in October or November. I am a bit excited, and hopefully, I won't be disappointed. I still have most of their songs on my playlist. This one is my favorite SuJu song.
yeah it's pretty wack. i get sm is excited to finally have some halfway decent rappers but they cater these songs to them way too much and they cant carry the group, it's a shame too because their vocal line is pretty solid and always shines whenever they get the time new blackpink next week, hopefully that delivers
Loved CLC, Blackpink, Jay Park, DOK2, Hoody and Suran's new releases. It feels so good to not be soooooooo late on Kpop anymore. I missed out on a lot of stuff.
produce 101 just finished airing and the lineup for the group wannaone is finalized, the winner and their companies that got in are 11. sungwoon (ardor and able) [hotshot member] 10. bae jinyoung (c9) 9. minhyun (pledis) [nu'est member] 8.jisung (mmo) 7. guanlin (cube) 6. woojin (brand new music) 5. ong sungwoo (fantagio) 4. jaehwan (independent trainee) 3. daehwi (brand new music) 2. jihoon (maroo) 1. daniel (mmo) this group and its members will dominate kpop for the next 4 years final episode performances:
yeah it was pretty surprising. going in to the last episode it was obvious that one of the members (minki) wasn'y going to make it, while another one (dongho) had a shot but the odds were stacked against him. jonghyun though seemed like a sure thing and many assumed he had his place in the top 5 (at least) secured and ends up not making it, probably the biggest twist of the show. at least the show seems to have reinvigorated their careers, all of their older albums have started to sell again in korea and theyll probably do quite well with their next comeback, hopefully it won't take too long with minhyun being busy in wannaone (dumb name) the show had me revisit their last two singles which ive been quite into since
this new reality show released a song for the show's members and its a jam. the lineup is crazy too its somi (ioi), seulgi (red velvet), moon byul (mamamoo), sohee (produce 101), sujeong (lovelyz), yooa (oh my girl), and d.ana (sonamoo)
That show has an interesting concept, did they do something similar with girl idols as well ? Could've been a cool way to revive some female careers as well. I'm still torn up about the amount of female bands who disappeared or publicly called it a day these past few years. I know it's part of Kpop's culture, but damn, it hurts as a fan of many years.
well there was a first season with girls last year which was also a massive success and led to the creation of ioi (one of the top groups of last year) though there were very few contestants who had actually been in groups and none from groups with any sort of recognition, mostly people from groups that put out one or two singles before vanishing with little fanfare. they really only let people from well known groups this time around because its rumored that they had trouble finding enough contestants. the most recognizable one from s1 was chanmi who had previously been in 5dolls and co-ed school but she flopped pretty hard, and the dia girls who had apparently auditioned for the show prior to their debut they've already said they're looking to do a third season with girls again next year (though i think it'll be delayed until 2019), but they will probably let some girls from more well known groups in this time around
KPOP comeback for later part this year , 1 ) Blackpink tomorrow . 2 ) Lee Hyori , next month 3 ) Yonhwa next month 4 ) CLON - June 29 5 ) SNSD - unconfirmed but before the end of this year . Source : Kpop News
