Eh. JT can do what he wants, he's earned it and he's earned my ears no matter what style he does, but I can't say that article excites me. Hopefully when he says it's going to be influenced by his Tennessee roots he means more "That Girl" and less "Drink You Away." Hell, just give me another double album again JT!
There are a ton of things that statement could mean other than "this album will sound like 'Drink You Away.'"
Idk, I'd love an album of "Drink You Away" type songs. One of the two highlights of Part 2 for me. But I also would love an entire album of "That Girl" type songs.
That's something that I'd never expect JT to do, but even if he did, he'd still do it well. There are plenty of bands this website worships that have made their entire living doing just that.
I think the overlap of the people who like those bands and the people that like JT probably isn't that high, haha.
Idk... I feel like JT is probably the most universally liked artist making music in the world (alongside Adele, Beyonce, Taylor, and maybe a select few others in that stratosphere).
I'd be lying if I said "Can't Stop the Feeling" hadn't grown on me tremendously... this song could easily be his first #1 in many years.
This song is the best case scenario for a kids movie soundtrack song. Music is fantastic, production is more detailed than it needed to be, melody is strong. And as inane soundtrack song lyrics go, these at least aren't hugely detrimental. I'm a pretty big fan.
For the first time in awhile, I feel like I'm listening to a different track than everyone else. Really unimpressed with just about all of this song, bums me out, neither the hook nor the production reeled me in. Obviously still excited for the record though, regardless of the direction he takes.
I just want Anna Kendrick to be a part of everything. Fuck it, let her be the quarterback for both Super Bowl teams next year
It's definitely part of the Trolls soundtrack, out Sept 23 "The soundtrack will feature 3 additional original tracks written by Timberlake specifically for the film and performed by himself and other top artists. In addition, Anna Kendrick, James Corden, Icona Pop, Zooey Deschanel and Christopher Mintz-Plasse will perform covers of hit songs from the past few decades. Timberlake and Kendrick will also cover the 1986 hit “True Colors” in a special performance that will also appear in the film." DreamWorks Trolls SoundTrack: Sept 23rd!
