Wow the initial projections were originally 700k....now they're 275k.

 

They must have assumed a SB bounce? Or streaming? I dunno, I'm confused by how you miss a projection by that much.

 

Yeah they were basing it off sales boosts for past SB performers, but it looks like the halftime show made no effect on this album's sales.

 

Not that surprised. Gaga saw a huge burst, but her album was already out and people slept on it. People knew JT was coming (I think?) and the performance wasn't anything to go "shit gotta get this now."

 

Yeah I think "A Million Reasons" was a big highlight for Gaga's set, which caused a rush to pick up Joanne. Only song from this that was performed was "Filthy" and it was the low point of his set. Not only has it been a divisive single but the audio was just really shitty for that part of the performance.

Absolutely how I’m feeling about him atm. I’ve been a big JT fan up to halfway through 20/20 but tbh I’m a good deal more informed about social issues now than I was in 2013 and everything about his career is reading a little different to me. Considering the times up pin, the instagram post, the woody allen thing...idk. There’s so much good music to listen to, and I just haven’t had the stomach for this album.

 

Fuck him for how he did Janet, then, now and forever. The way he handled it and continues to handle it proves that he was never in it for the culture.

That being said, a lot of people (in general, not here) that are turning on him just now are obviously doing it because it's the cool thing to do now (plus websites need those sweet retweets), which is also corny.

Last words: I wish there was a version of My Love sung by Usher (EDIT: I haven't been keeping up with Usher news)

 

Usher is rotten.

Ticket prices for his UK tour are outrageous. Can't justify it.

 

I've listened to my shortened version of this a few times over the past couple days and I really like it.

It’s a really cool song. Idk, I like this album. There are a few clunkers, but it’s been something I’ve wanted to listen to a surprising amount since it leaked. I think it’s better than either 20/20 album.

 

I guess sales projections are now between 250-275k total equivalent sales.
