Yeah, no songs significantly over 5 minutes is definitely a surprise if true.

 

Was hoping this would be more like a 50 minute album. 65 isn't bad but it's gonna have to be really good all the way through

 

I'd be bummed if the songs don't end up being super long.

 

I think the whole woodsman vibe gets hard to pull off when Pharrell wrote half the album

 

the dissonance between the first single and the album title/design is jarring.

 

Yeah, it’s gonna be VERY interesting to see how this whole project comes together lol

Oh yeah same here. I’m really excited for this album, idk yet how it’ll work as a unified piece but I have faith he’ll pull it off.

 

Last minute there’s no live nation presale ugh... hopefully I can get tickets on the regular sale

 

I'm not sure why the "woods" have to be pigeonholed to a specific sound, why can't we have a fuckin robot dance party in the woods?!?!?!

 

That is true. Honestly I'm leaning more towards thinking this will have *elements* of a more roots-leaning sound, but not predominantly that.

 

I lowkey wanted "Livin' Off the Land" to be a 9-minute epic

Honestly though the closest honest "woods" album is a metal album, they just made all their instruments from hand-chopped wood

Just when I thought I heard the last of "Can't Stop the Feeling!"

 

As a standalone track, its such a shameless earworm

Against his back catalogue, its such a dud

It's in the ballpark of Pharrell's "Happy"

Now that I say that, I have no idea what these two will come up with

 

i was just saying to a friend that i'd really rather not hear that at all.

it's a fine, fun song. but compared to the rest of his catalogue and singles, no thanks.

i'd say Filthy, Mirrors, SexyBack are the 3 locks. who knows what else could happen.

 

Totally back this. It’s a solid pop song, but he’s done so much better.

 

He's definitely going to do Can't Stop the Feeling there's no question about it. That was one of the biggest songs of the year.

I'd guess SexyBack, Mirrors, Filthy, probably part of Cry Me a River, and Can't Stop the Feeling. Maybe something with a guest star, otherwise probably something else from FutureSex (What Goes Around or My Love).

Maybe an NSYNC reunion? We can all dream.

 

Wouldn't be surprised to see him break out some Rock Your Body.

 

I really hate Cant Stop the Feeling. I totally second the comparison to Happy. I probably wouldn’t hate either song as much as I do if anyone else was singing them but like...I know they can do better.

And they’re just so fucking corny. I mean, that’s my main complaint. It’s obnoxious.
