I mean, I think there’s a reason it’s not held up as a classic 2010s pop song. And i think that reason is the one we’re talking about!
just chiming in to say the bookend tracks on 20/20 are perfect and waste no second of their runtime. pusher love girl and blue ocean floor are all timers of all timers
Blue Ocean Floor is such a wild track from him, nothing like any other song of his but it's damn perfect, THAT one could last 30 minutes and I'd eat it all up
It's kind of crazy how I consider myself a JT fan but I really only like two of his albums in full (FS/LS and 20/20 Pt 1) and then just scattered singles. Those two albums are fantastic though, especially FS/LS which I think might be the best mainstream pop album of the 00's Also LoveStoned is his best song
Other than Let The Groove Get In, Strawberry Bubblegum has my fave extended section. Listening to those two in comparison to his output in the last decade just... depresses me. edit: Oh and Blue Ocean Floor is my favorite JT track ever. Oh how I wish he would've continued in that lane...
But the single/radio edit is cut down by nearly half of its original runtime. I agree that the album version overstays its welcome, but your average listener wouldn't have been familiar with the bloated 8 min version of Mirrors.
Even the radio edit of mirrors is too long, it should have been like 3:45...shit is so repetitive, especially that boring ass outro that's like 3 minutes long
I don't get bored of any part of Mirrors really. The only song I'd cut down on 20/20 is Pusher Love Girl. I cut the last three minutes or so from that one.
I also don’t like that part! I’ve been vocal about my overall distaste for “love as drug” songs, though.
It’s too bad that Spotify groups the deluxe in with the regular so this isn’t the closing track to casual listeners.
Hilarious that Spotify groups this in as a Justin Timberlake album because what in the world is this?
I don't like it at all, easily my least favourite part of the whole album. The first five minutes are great though.
Damn, that’s awful. Lyme Disease is no joke. Seems like maybe the internet could have been a little more graceful with its recent criticism of his performances.
I did wonder if something was up, even if it was just total burnout. Granted, it was 6-7 years ago now, but, I saw him on the Man of the Woods tour and he was fantastic, and I don't even like that album really at all.
The ticks in Tennessee are no joke. I know he’s got a house out here in the country. They are EVERYWHERE.
his shows last year (despite every other aspect of his year) were very well received so im not surprised, but saddened to hear about this being a recent health issue. hope he gets better soon also the end of pusher love girl is amazing and probably the best 3 minutes in his discog
i saw him twice earlier on in this tour and he was UNREAL. he has been in tour two years straight and now this. dude has to be tired.
