Justin Bieber has the number one album in the country this week:

Justin Bieber achieves his eighth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as Justice debuts atop the tally with 154,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending March 25, according to MRC Data. The album was released via Raymond Braun/Def Jam on March 18.

Thank god someone knocked Morgan Wallen off the top

I'm in love with the ordinary

Finally that racist piece of shit isn't number one anymore. Although ten weeks is way too long as it is.

Came here to say the same thing. Quite disgusting seeing his numbers stay consistent for that many weeks.:puke:

what worries me is the possibility that he can take advantage of not being in the spotlight for a while to let this all simmer down, and then he’ll do the comeback apology tour and everyone will just forget what he did. I really want this to be that example where someone’s career just flatlines as a consequence of their actions, but I don’t see it happening. He’s still making his label wayyyyy too much money for them to drop him completely. He’ll be fully embraced by his fanbase for a while to come.

I don’t know this guy but googled what you all are talking about. Drunk night he calls someone, I’m assuming his friend, the n word. Was it actually directed at a person of color in a derogatory way? If so, f this guy!

beiber definitely said the n word to his friends in his stupid years yet you all are happy he’s number 1. I’m just confused by this all.

i don't know if we should necessarily be celebrating justin bieber being at number 1 for other reasons, but i'm more willing to forgive a literal child using a word that he probably had no real understanding of than morgan wallen's grown ass.

I think the difference here is Bieber’s “stupid years” were when he was a teenager. His mistake was at 14-15. Morgan Wallen is 27. That’s a big enough difference in terms of age and maturity level alone.

I’m not saying Morgan can’t be rehabilitated or anything, just that he’s an adult with a huge spotlight on him who should’ve known better.

The fact that his fans doubled down here and continued to support him with album sales because of his use of that word is what’s gross.

I don’t think Bieber had a number one album for ten weeks straight after his controversy leaked...

I’m not celebrating Bieber, just happy to see Morgan knocked off the top spot period.

It’s an apples and oranges comparison IMO. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Morgan Wallen is a 27 year old white man who has no business saying the N word, which is always derogatory when used by a white person. No one is applauding Bieber for being unproblematic, but when was the last time he used the N word? Genuine question, as the last time I’d heard about anything of that nature was when he was 15 years old, which is hardly comparable.

Who fucking cares who it was directed at? He shouldn't have said it in the first place.

I’m a black guy. I think you should not say anything assuming you’re not a person of color.

You’re telling a black person how he should feel about that word use. Interesting.

Here’s what you can do. You can tell non-pocs that they can’t use the word. You can’t tell a poc who they can or cannot give a pass to. Simple.

lol not defending the use of the word. But he used it. Why is he getting a pass? Cancel culture is quite tricky to understand imo

He wasn’t given a pass when it surfaced. No one here is giving him a pass. But when a grown ass man says the word and then cries it’s because he’s an alcoholic, that’s slightly different than someone using the word in their past as an actual child, who to public knowledge, hasn’t resurfaced again with the same issue in his adult years. It’s been explained, you literally just have to read this thread.

I’d also like to point out that wanting accountability for actions isn’t cancel culture. Consequences for shitty behavior isn’t cancel culture, it’s accountability for doing said shitty thing.

    Regular

There are LOTS of people losing jobs and being "canceled" for things they did 10-20 years ago while they were still in their teens because people want "accountability."

You seem to be the judge of who's allowed to say it. Because Justin was a kid and this is a "grown ass man" makes it different to you. Interesting.

And what you and those supporting you are essentially saying is that I should shut up and dribble. Bieber doesn't get a pass because you say he does.

no one said you should do anything, pal. we could do this all day but i don't feel like it. we're all expressing our own opinions just like you are, but you appear to be working yourself up about it.
