Ok yeah this is great. First spoken interlude was super cringe, it’s a testament to how much I’m enjoying the actual songs that I didn’t stop it there LOL… the actual songs are really good so far.


He found production that suits his voice SO WELL here… it still has that slightly boyish quality even now, so there’s tons of bright chords and like an airy, weightless quality to it. This is damn good

 

MkGee influence all over this. Very chill album so far, I like it

This is just a really pleasant listen overall! Although I still have like ten tracks left lol

Yeah I kind of loved my first listen? Very surprised! And also…I dislike skits but some of these were kind of funny.

the soul skit where dude calls him black is so stupid like no one was like maybe this is a bad idea to include on this? i guess at least hes self aware??

 

He did release an album called “Justice” at the height of BLM that sampled MLK Jr. in the intro and then proceeded to be all about how much he loves his wife. That skit in particular feels like him showing people that he’s invited to the cook-out. Real cringy.

 

I think after my first true listen of the album and probably a bunch of certain songs, I would give this like a 8/10 which is pretty good for me considering his last album was like a bad rating for me.
