Season 5 is definitely a season of television. Though I actually like Rapaport in it. He's such a different brand of weirdo. I think the writing was the main problem. They weren't sure what to do with the characters.

 

Season 6 recovers really well though, don’t worry!

Also I need to say that the episode with the stairwell scene from Season 4 is top tier television.

 

yeah halfway through 6 and it's really just great. happy they brought back Limehouse, great character

i watched the first ep live and quickly determined this is going to be a wednesday hulu show for me from now on. like unreasonably long.

 

Oh I didn’t know it was also on FX thought it was just Hulu

 

i did too so i also missed like the first 5 minutes trying to find it on the app before i realized lol

 

just got s6 out the way. that last Raylan/Boyd scene, so great. no clue how they're gonna top that

 

First ep of Primeval was baaaaaaaaad.

 

watched half of it last night and I was bored outta my mind lol. doesn't feel like the same show in any way, hopefully it improves

 

It's not the same show.

It's a completely different Elmore Leonard book with Raylan Givens thrown into the story.

Holbrook is a very good villain through two eps

 

all the reviews i've seen have been extremely positive with the exception that boyd holbrook isn't walton goggins. which, yeah, duh lol

 

I'm sorry but throwing a Justified prefix on your show names and having the incredibly recognisable main character from Justified is gonna create certain expectations lmao. thought that was pretty obvious

I’m enjoying Primeval so far. It’s one of my favorite Leonard books and Boyd Holbrook is pretty awesome as the villain. The pacing is definitely different than Justified but I’m still having a good time

 

I didn’t think this started bad at all, seemed pretty on par, just different. Pretty dark and violent too.

 

second episode was better than the first, especially the ending. still feels weirdly... hollow, to me? like Raylan was always so personally involved in the original show, the consequence of plugging him into the story is that he just seems so removed from all the action, like it could really be any character. feels like they tried to offset that with Willa but she's just been written so badly unfortunately

I do like Holbrook's performance a lot so far and Timmy O brought the heat at the end there, hope that keeps up

 

I really don't know what they're going for with some of this lol, just when it's picking up some momentum we get some dumb CGI tornado shit

I liked the first two episodes. Cool to see Detroit so
much.

 

I think this is great so far? Not getting the hate. Boyd is so good, between this and Indy 5 he’s having a great year.
