the last like third of s2 was absolutely ecstatic TV. last 20 minutes had me glued to the screen. so fucked up that they left Ava's fate hanging between seasons, I can't imagine waiting a whole year for that

also a big fan of Gary being written off hopefully forever, goddamn I hate that dude

 

Gary is a other great villain.

 

Started a rewatch and did not realize so much happens in the first episode.

 

Deputy Tim was the best.

 

tim and rachel rocked, yeah. it sucks that art's actor is such a dipshit now too bc i liked art quite a bit.

 

i had forgotten about raylan and ava in season 1

 

really a shame searcy has brain worms, art is such an integral fun character

 

"you mean I have four kidneys?" is the best line in this or maybe any other show

 

man Quarles is such a great villain, I love how Duffy seems so intimidated by working with a guy even crazier than he is

 

lmao Jody and his filmmaker friend gotta be the worst villains in this show right. absolutely hated all their screentime, so bad

this season feels like a big step down from s3 which was easily the best so far. tough sell going from Quarles/Duffy/Limehouse to this Drew Thompson storyline with no real antagonist

 

S2 is the best season

 

eh 2 was really good but the villain trio in 3 is absolutely spectacular. hard to beat that

 

season 2 was the best season and season 3 had the best villains, both can be true

 

The show gets so much better than S2 as it goes

 

polished off s4, it was fine but the weakest so far. only really picked up momentum when you finally see who Drew is and then loses it again pretty quick. thought the Boyd v. backwoods church story it teased and then dropped was way more interesting than anything we actually got

also the first time it's kinda missed with the casting, dude who played Colt was awful and Patton Oswalt was just out of place as a big fan of his. if Timmy O wasn't so charismatic I'd be totally sick of Raylan's shit at this point too, he's kinda the worst? heard the last season is really strong so I'm sticking this out till then

 

Givens as a character is kind of all over the place because his arc is so tied up with Winona and his father so when both of those stories more or less resolve he is just a guy with a gun.

 

s5 is so all over the place lol. the Crowe cousins are absolute dogshit but some of the other stuff is pretty superb. Boyd killing the funeral home director guy is easily one of the best scenes in the whole show

It would be great to ask the casting director why they thought it was a good idea to take an actor so famous for his regional accent and make him do a completely opposite one.

 

I’ve skipped season 5 on previous rewatches because I remember really not enjoying it at all but I guess I’ll give it a go this time

 

Danny's death is the dumbest fucking shit lmao. can't believe no-one on the staff said hey maybe let's veto this. reads like a bad (normal) snl skit

 

9 episodes into season 5 and bored out of my mind. It’s like somebody flipped a switch between seasons and everything that was working before stopped working completely. None of the Crowes are engaging in any way, the cartel stuff feels like they’re trying to be Breaking Bad, and the Ava storyline is easily the worst thing the show ever did.

 

the first half of the season is alright but it was such a mistake pairing Boyd and Daryl Crowe up together. makes it so you can't even get a great Goggins scene without hearing Rapaport's dogshit accent saying "maaaaan" five times a fucking minute

goddamn Dewey's death really is genuinely devastating. "can't even see their eyes" is a haunting fucking line
