The show can definitely be over the top with the amount of insane gun fights one US Marshall ends up in but I loved pretty much every second of it outside of Michael Rapaport.

 

well, that's unfortunate

 

this show definitely has its fair share of cheese but it's so good otherwise that I can overlook it

Rapaport is one of the best parts of Deep Blue Sea.

 

you can't just mention Eric Roberts in passing and then have Eric Roberts on the show playing a character but I guess that's exactly what they did

On s2. While Mags is great, the show really does not hit full speed until Wynn Duffy becomes a regular and Quarles is introduced

Season 2 is probably the consensus best season.

 

It’s great. The Winona stealing money storyline is a weak point, though. Wynn Duffy is my favorite character, so the seasons that focus on him are my favorites

The even-numbered seasons are better than the odd-numbered ones. A strange trend.

 

We’re on season 5 and season 2 was easily my least favorite.
