If you have enough (perhaps morbid) curiosity, you can see it as a 6-episode miniseries instead of a 4-hr film. I believe it’s split into 6 chapters, which were only kept together as one continuous film in the end due to some contractual stuff.
I thought the entire point was it was going to be released as a miniseries so HBO Max can milk it for content
It seems like this is set up perfectly to watch as 5 or 6 episodes, seeing as how it's divided into sections with chapter headings and all.
I mean, this sounds so nuts I need to check it out now. I hated all Snyder's DC movies thus far but I appreciate the pure go for broke nature of this
I really enjoyed BvS: Ultimate. I know I am one of the few. I'm just happy I have four hours with some of the best superhero castings even if they are slighted by story and writing. I'll take anything that puts me with these characters right now tbh.
I also liked BvS Ultimate when I recently watched it. I don't think I even finished it when I tried to watch the first version. The extra material really made it work for me. I feel like Zack Snyder is kinda like a Peter Jackson in that they seem completely and utterly incapable of making a normal length movie these days. And if a movie is shot entirely in that style, just randomly chopping it down significantly makes the whole thing feel disjointed and confusing. You lose the connective tissue. When Snyder shot this he clearly wasn't trying to make a two hour movie, but that's exactly what his boss(es) was (were) demanding.
I’ve only seen the directors cut of BvS and it was an hour longer than it needed to be. You could fit all the actual content of that movie into a much shorter run time. There was so so so much wasted time in it.
I assumed it was tongue in cheek. The fact that it's not in the movie definitely makes it seem like Zack/whoever knew it would get reactions out of people. Trolling lol.
I’m glad he only used that line to troll. Was great to see dorky ass film Twitter and this thread so upset over it
I doubt Zack Snyder would care how people reacted. If he was going off how people reacted he would have kept it in.
Prolly not. It’s just hilarious everyone’s reactions in here and how upset they are at this whole thing existing then they’ll go in a Marvel thread and act like it’s the greatest thing to happen when most Marvel entries aren’t really any better than the shitty movies Snyder has made
Snyder hasn’t made a single movie that’s better than the worst Marvel movie. I’d rather rewatch Thor 1 and 2 over any Snyder movie any day, no question.
