The Arkham games are some of my favourites of all time. Helped educate me on a load of DC characters that I knew nothing about too. The Arrowverse helped me with that too haha
Arkham Knight was the reason I bought a PS4 (got the Arkham Knight edition too). Those games got me back into video games. They’re just incredible.
‘Justice League’: The Shocking, Exhilarating, Heartbreaking True Story of #TheSnyderCut Interesting piece, though I come away from it still feeling like Snyder’s interest in deconstructing superheroes is also something he is very bad at doing in execution. I think reading this convinced me to watch the movie with as open a mind as possible even if I will always think Snyder’s ceiling is very, very low. As someone in the article says, I’d rather watch one person’s chaos than a committees boring slog.
Pretty heartbreaking article tbh. Lot of good information on this whole bizarre scenario of this getting rereleased. Insane that Whedon redid about 3/4 of the cut that was released, really makes me wonder wtf this will look like compared to what was released. The article does make me wonder why WB didn’t just fire Snyder sooner. They clearly were alarmed at the reception of BVS and certain plot points Snyder wanted like Bruce falling in love with Lois which is just so so incredibly dumb that it kind of confirms Snyder really doesn’t get these characters like he thinks he does
dude really seems like the Head Coach that the entire team loves and no one wants to see get fired despite combining for like a 3-40 record in 4 years lol
I want it out because I want this era to be over, I want Snyder to get his vision out, I do feel bad for the guy even if I don't like where he wanted to take it. There is also a bias from me where I just want to be in a medium with these characters again.
This is legitimately accurate lol. The article really nails it here: I’ll say again here that this is exactly how I felt working on his set and it was honestly refreshing. At the time, the other big budget projects I worked on were always packaged with this collective feeling from every department: that oft repeated “this is a shit show” shrug of discontent. You’d step foot on those things every day and that’s how it felt. But with BvS I always remember everyone just being...happy to be there from the top down. Even the office PAs I talked to would tell me that Zack would show up in the office and chat with each of them, that he was always very health conscious and would make recommendations on drinks they should try. Hours later he’d show up with said drink in hand and be like “Here you go, see if you like it.” Like, regardless of anyone’s feelings about output (and those opinions are certainly...varied), the general consensus was always “ah, but you’re a good dude though. Where do you want the next setup?”
That's actually really nice to hear. Much rather him be a decent person than him fully understand Superman lol
I feel like I should unsub from this thread. The more I read and the more that comes out about this, I want to take Deborah's advice and never see this movie.
