Huh. I know it's only 4-5 seconds of effects footage, but maybe they will put an official trailer out w/ that online DC event in August after all.

I'm guessing that Darkseid was part of the original version of the flashback? Don't remember what is & isn't confirmed about various versions of the film, test screenings, etc.

Surprising he’s kind of going after Whedon like that

  4. I'm assuming a good chunk of his stuff was cut, right? I remember the football scene in the trailer that never made it to theatrical.

It is kind of surprising that that tweet is so direct. Usually actors are more vague with those sentiments.

  7. Wow. I've heard criticisms about his writing before, but this is the first time I'm hearing he's abusive to cast and crew. Wonder if it's specific to JL or if he's always like this.

Huh. First I’ve heard about someone calling out Geoff Johns. I thought he was considered rather well liked by everyone?

    Disappointing if true.

I mean, Whedon's ex-wife (who was married to him for 16 yrs) accused him of cheating on her repeatedly w/ people on his sets, starting w/ Buffy. Which, one, that's abusive relationship behavior. And two, that's a gross abuse of power on set (whether any of those people ever officially called him out for it or not). Especially gross the way he hid it w/ "feminism" & later shifted blame on the "beautiful, needy, aggressive young women" he was around.

As for Geoff Johns, you gotta figure he was part of DC Comics leadership during the years that they allowed Eddie Berganza to keep working as an editor, in spite of a well known history of sexual harrassment. I have no idea how much direct power he actually had over that, but, like, learning about a failure to act wouldn't be the most shocking development to me.

I can't imagine Joss was in an easy position. The film felt so rushed after he got the call. When it gets to crunch time, everyone can be a bit of a dick.

Tbf at this point, who in this thread *hasn't* trash talked Snyder? Plenty of other valid reasons to trash Whedon imo

Haha fair enough! Just feels like people are constantly calling him out on being more "style" than "substance" and completely misinterpreting source material like Watchmen, or butchering films like BvS

I agree, I know he gets alot of hate and I'm sure that the criticism is valid, I'm just not well versed at all when it comes to film and don't know any better haha.

I mean, my issues with Snyder as a filmmaker are well documented. But, if you’re gonna reshoot his film, which’ll still have his name on it, into something very different while he’s off dealing with the tragic loss of his daughter... and then you’re also trash talking him on set? That’s pretty different, lol, & pretty shitty.

But, like, that shouldn’t be surprising considering Whedon’s [alleged] history of cheating on his ex-wife w/ “beautiful, needy, aggressive young women” on set.

Yeah that's totally fair, and tbh, I completely forgot about the reason Snyder had to step back from the film in the first place which definitely makes it pretty fucked up

Shorter than two out of three extended Lord of the Rings films... but, that much Snyder filmmaking, for that much time at once, would be ROUGH, lol.

If there’s that much material, I hope it gets split into separate parts.
