The logistics of bringing back all of the cast members for extensive full-on re-shoots of a movie that isn't even going to get a theatrical release are mind-boggling. Not to mention how expensive it would be.

If this is going direct-to-streaming, they're doing the bare minimum. It doesn't make sense to literally re-make the movie from any angle. It'll be a stitched-together Frankenstein's monster of a movie.

The article seems like they’re doing reshoots or at least dialogue/ finishing VFX to make a pretty finished product. I hope it’s good and I have no idea what to expect.

Additional budget for this thing is estimated to be 20-30 million

If they don’t reshoot it, then it will be my first paragraph. 20 minutes or so “added content” like the BvS directors cut which is just as shitty, if not worse than what actually made the film.

Something that has always bothered me about the Snyder cut movement, and specifically Snyder himself championing it, is that Whedon basically did Snyder a favor by stepping in to complete the film after Snyder's daughter passed away and then the man spent the ensuing years talking up his version. Never sat well with me.

I’m pretty sure all of, if not all, of the cast has said they’ll happily come back to finish the film. Even Affleck.

I always wondered it Whedon was brought in by Snyder to finish the film or the studio since he had success with The Avengers.

I’ve liked everything WB has done since Justice League with regards to DC but honestly if they are giving Snyder 30m to try fix a shit sequel to a shit film lead by two characters he doesn’t understand a fucking thing about I think I’m done honestly.

This is from the initial article announcing the move. Sounds to me like Snyder's call, at least partially. He brought Joss on to write new scenes, then decided to step away, and advocated against pushing the release back, which required bringing on a new director.

  11. Insane to me that they're investing a good chunk of money into this lol. I'm definitely interested, though.

Easy pass. Not only because I’m not bothering with HBO Max, but that does kind of stop me from seeing it.

Darkseid is going to be in it too lmao. I can’t see how it’s not a complete mess.

There’s no way this isn’t massively underwhelming, I can’t wait.

Of course he's stoked, whether or not he has to do re-shoots for this he probably stands to make some money off this somehow

  18. I probably enjoyed Justice League more than most - I thought it was a fairly fun, sub 2-hour movie that had a cast I really enjoyed.

I’m interested if only to see Snyder’s “singular” vision for the film - probably won’t make a huge difference but it’s piqued my interest.

Still odd that he would push for his cut considering he chose to (understandably) drop off the project.

the good parts of Justice League were good in spite of Snyder's involvement, not because of it, so I'm expecting this to be execrable

Probably because after he chose to drop off the studio allowed someone to reshoot half of it.

This does prove the Snyder cut did not exist all this time.

Yeah that's what's wild, there is no "Snyder Cut", this is closer to a remake

I don’t even know what to call it. I’m sure they will use a lot of the same footage. like, the fight against Superman will undoubtedly be at night (or at least in darkness) again. But it sounds like they are going to do new stuff.
