I just watched this for a second time. Liked it a bit less than the first time. For some reason the bad CGI really really stuck out to me this time. That being said, I still loved the League interacting with each other. I haven’t kept up on all the DCEU news but I will say I will be bummed if they can’t keep this main cast moving forward.
I don’t like how they used the Russian family. It’s like this family was the only way they could humanize civilians and show the real world “repercussions”. I don’t know. I’m having a hard time describing what I mean.
One cringeworthy line I just couldn’t seem to get past: What was it like being dead and then coming back, supes? “Itchy”
What's with this movie making Aquaman a total asshole? He slams the guy he saves against a table at the bar and then says the whiskey's on him? Then of course he walks out of the bar to a White Stripes song like a total badass.
That weird feeling when I find a video trashing this film pretty funny, but it also makes me really want to rewatch the film. The various clips here reminded me how much this felt like an episode of a kids' cartoon series, both for better and for worse. It's nonsense, but there's some really fun stuff here.
It had so much potential and could have been a hell of a lot better. However, I still enjoyed it and had a fun time watching it. I’ll be rewatching it soon and hoping for an extended/director’s cut in the future. When do you guys think we will get a teaser for Aquaman?
Liked this less on second viewing. The bad CGI really stuck out this time. Some cringey moments for sure, but when it clicks, it clicks. Just doesn't do that often enough, sadly.
Speeder Parker lol. Haven't watched it since the theaters, but I had a lot of fun with it. The team is great. The movie is just messy and has too much bad CGI.
I think a good time would be Deadpool 2. It'll be a big hit with the right audiences, it's a good amount of time before the release, and it's a safe amount of time after Infinity War comes out.
I’m assuming that last post was about this movie being the lowest grossing DC movie. (I only see a couple emojis right now) I still don’t get the overwhelming hate for this movie. Does it have its problems? Heck yeah! But... it is still awesome to see these characters (with pretty darn good casting) interacting on screen. There are so many movies that are much worse that are more “beloved.” To each their own of course, but I did enjoy this film quite a but.
Oh ... time to get off my high horse haha. I’m not sure if I’m totally missing something but would you care to provide some insight?
It was Henry Cavill's Instagram post of him having fun with the fact that he finally shaved his mustache. For the record, I had a lot of fun with Justice League but am also not surprised it's the lowest grossing DCEU movie.
Ahh thank you! I’m sorry that I immediately jumped to the negative. (Spending time on the internet will do that to you.)
I enjoyed this for what it was, but it was a mess. I’ll buy the Blu-ray when it’s $5 for Black Friday. I stupidly bought BvS on its release for 25 fucking dollars and didn’t even watch until the next before this. At this point that’s the starting point for big Blu-ray releases. Which sucks since that used to be the 3d version price point for most and $20 would be standard BR and digital. Now that 3d is fading it’s changed. So annoying.
Exactly. That’s the base price for the bigger movies. Where movies like Shape of Water and Ladybird are $20.
