Is it probably going to be akin to Throne? I know it's going to include his brother. Really curious to see the direction. I think I would have liked if it were more of an origin story where he finds out everything as an adult like in Johns' run.
I trust Johns to make the most of the character's long history, and I expect that to include at least some elements of his own work on the character. Though, a lot obviously depends on to what extent the screenwriter and/or Wan came into that project with their own vision before Johns' input.
Bummer. I hope it's released at some point down the road. If they had it cut together for test screenings, wouldn't it just be easy money to release it? I watched it again last night and showed my wife who enjoyed it a lot, but for myself I kept thinking of all the missing scenes and it made me mad lol.
The test screenings would've been very early cuts, without all the special effects. Lots of green screen and filler graphics.
While I agree, it tends to work better when there is one shared vision for a film (whether one person or a group sharing that vision )... I don’t want to see another Snyder DC movie. Hard pass.
I saw this today. It was not very good. Why did they start the movie with the iPhone Superman interview framing device, cut before he gave the last answer, then end the movie with the hacky Lois Lane voice over article framing device? I did really like most of Cavill’s performance. Maybe my favorite of his as Superman/Clark, aside from when the character was written like the Incredible Hulk when he first comes back. But he had some moments where he could crack a joke or say something earnest, and I felt them, small as they were. I also appreciated how cartoony some parts of the movie were willing to be, like when Barry saves that family, then looks over and sees Clark carrying an entire building. But man oh man the rest was so bland. Just a generic CGI mess. Save the world from the CGI bad guy with ill-defined “take over the world” motivations. I’ve just had enough of it. This movie was barely mediocre.
Yeah I saw this recently and I just had such a blah, emotionless reaction to it all after it was over. It just kind of... is. Idk. Nothing stuck with me overwhelmingly positive or negative about it. Just kind of exists. I don't think I have any desire to ever see it again. I will say I did enjoy the levity in Superman this time around though.
don't 90% of all major DVD/Blu Ray releases have scrapped scenes? seems non-sticker worthy imo, i don't have faith that they've had a good relevant scene in their backpocket for Wal Mart lol
Hard to believe this is already close to being released on digital/dvd and I still haven’t seen it, nor do I really care to lol
I'm about 20 minutes in and the problems I have with this are massive already. Cavill's stache is probably the least egregious use of CGI so far too.
It sucks as a comic book fan that Marvel & DC are unable to produce fantastic movies together and it's a constant competition. It's obvious that it will happen and as a biased Marvel fan the films will never be knocked off but I was so excited to hear that the DCEU was happening and for the characters to be butchered was such a disappointment. I hope that it's rebooted and the time is taken to flesh out such brilliant characters. When the likes of Iron Man and Cap were having their first movies I was so excited to finally see them on the "big screen" for so long in their own movies but for Flash and Aquaman to have such little screen time for their first appearance just put me off the thing as a whole. Just ranting after watched JL in the hopes that the reviews are wrong, as they sometimes can be. They're not wrong. I'm going to watch Daredevil. The new one, not the Ben Affleck version 'cause that just kills me.
Season 1 of Daredevil was fantastic. From the cinematography to the fight scenes. Marvel surprised everyone. What didn't you like about Season 2?
Wilson Fisk & The Punisher are probably the two things to take away. I think they tried to emulate the success of season 1 and absolutely fucked it.
Never even finished season two of Daredevil. Just bad. And the first season is one of my favorite Marvel projects.
