Oh wow. Just wow. If any of that is true, this movie really could have been a lot better. I am so bummed now that this isn't what we got. The plot made so much more sense with the Mother Boxes in this version, the reason for bringing Superman back that way makes more sense and acknowledges the Knightmare scene, Batman acknowledges his killing in BvS and Sups/Cyborg got a loooottt more fleshing out.

What a fucking missed opportunity. That's all there is to say.

3, 4, expanding the farm scene, and 18 are really the only parts I think that would've helped the movie a bit.

8, 9, and 18 would have helped a ton and been awesome.

Was going to see this this evening but the showings at the two cinemas in my city centre were at 8.50pm and 9pm respectively and I need to pick my wife up at 10pm. Crazy there's no 7pm showing on a Friday night.

    Agreed and agreed.

I consider myself a pretty big Snyder fan but the world doesn't need him, or any film maker for that matter lol.

I am looking forward to what he does next though for sure.

    I love the Steppenwolf/Motherbox stuff.

  9. Just saw this and I thought it was great! Loved so much of it. Really hated BvS so I was surprised, but man, I thought this was a really enjoyable superhero movie.

Betting now that this won't beat the likes of It at the worldwide box office judging by the drop offs in China and the US.

Wow thats a lot of changes. I wonder if the Wonder Woman taking the leadership role and saving Batman was a part of it or if it was only focused on Batman sacrificing himself. I could definitely see that being an added arc due to her movies success.

Its impossible to say without seeing it but to me it sounds like Zacks version was once again all over the place. I'll say that version definitely adds a lot of character depth that was lacking for me and definitely wouldve made Steppenwolf at the very least more interesting. Really surprised that Superman's resurrection was the same. I thought that was something that was definitely changed.

Would love to see it though.

Man I hate knowing we might never get to see that material that was cut or edited from the film. I would have liked to have seen ALL of that. Especially the additional characters and backgrounds of the main heroes.

The recent one where Kevin reads the page I linked is here, starting just under 2 hrs in (I think around 1:55):

I think this is the previous video she was "on" (off camera, in the audience), though since this was right before the film actually came out, not much worth in watching it at this point:

Hopefully this doesn’t come across the wrong way but is this really still worth seeing in theaters? I haven’t really had a chance to get around to it and I am pretty interested in seeing it but I feel like I might as well just wait at this point, I really want to see Disaster Artist and Star Wars which are super close

I guess what I’m asking is if this is a real “theater movie” or will I not lose much waiting a few months and watching it at home?

  16. It doesn't look as good as BvS, and the cuts between Snyder/Whedon bits might be more glaring on the big screen, especially all the mustache stuff ha. That said, I had a fun theater experience and am glad I saw some of the coolest moments in theaters.

But ya, do a discount day.^

Finally got around to watching the Ultimate Edition of BVS. Still not a great movie, but it made a whole lot more sense with these added scenes. Also BVS was visually so much better than JL.

After just three weeks in release, Justice League has grossed just $201 million domestically. Contrast this with other DC titles around this time: "Man of Steel," $256 million; "Batman vs. Superman," $301 million; "Suicide Squad," $270 million; "Wonder Woman," $289 million. It’s becoming more difficult to say that this didn’t bomb in relation to competition and expectations.

  20. To me its such a bummer this isn’t more well received. I’m usually pretty critical of these types of movies but I really had a blast with this group. Definitely a very rewatchable fairly tight movie.

Not without its flaws for sure but this is another strong step in the right direction following the lead of Wonder Woman.

I’m really hoping they keep this cast together.

I saw it last Friday for the first time and I honestly don't have much to say about it. It happened... that's about it.

A lot better and more coherent than BvS. It felt quite short but I enjoyed it for what it was.

If this film not making the necessary amount of money doesn't change WB's tactics then nothing will, not even managed to beat It at the worldwide box office.

  24. This movie was a result of WB "changing their tactics."

The tough thing with these movies is that they're shot so far in advance, it takes forever for a change in direction to actually get settled into. Aquaman, a year from now, will be the first DC film after BvS to actually have a chance to be a reaction to the reception of BvS: Its script was written from a story Geoff Johns and James Wan developed a couple months after BvS came out.
