I have a scientific curiosity in Snyder's version.

Wonder if there will be an extended cut, and if so, if they'll let Snyder do a "director's cut" where he assembles as close to his vision as possible, or if it'll just be this version with some scenes thrown in. I guarantee I'd fine Snyder's vision a significant step down, but it'd be fascinating to see.

Yeah I keep hearing that the Ultimate edition makes it a much better film. Walmart's gonna be selling the blu ray on black friday for only $6, gonna try and pick that up.

If the rumors are true about Affleck looking to leave the franchise, do you think they'll just simply replace Bruce Wayne with a new actor, or do you think they'll do a Batman Beyond scenario where Bruce passes on the torch?

The only way I'd be happy if they change actors if it's after Flashpoint. I would hate for it to be a different actor playing Bruce and it just be kind of, there. I don't want Batman not being played by Bruce Wayne, to be honest. Too early. Batman Beyond would not fit with all of these current characters. I think it be cool to have whoever is playing Bruce play an older Bruce for a standalone Batman Beyond film.

If Affleck is out, do Aquaman, and then do Flashpoint, and have that be your Bruce reset.

  8. I expect it to still be Bruce.

If I'm being honest, I want them to go younger with him though for the Reeves movie/going forward.

Like a younger actor? Or played by Affleck earlier in Bruce's career, pre MoS.

It would be cool to see a trilogy that helps set up Bruce's mindset before the events of MoS, but I'm really up for anything that isn't Nolan esq.

  10. Younger actor.

I think if Batman is replaced it would be only for the Reeves trilogy since rumor is that it's going to take place in the past. if they teased the legion of doom and don't actually do it i'll be pissed the hell off. My theory is Lex, Deathstroke, Black Manta as the 3 mains of it.

Word is that the actor (coughJakeGyllenhallcouhgh) would just step in and take over and be surrounded by the already existing supporting cast (Irons, Simmons, etc).

When I think of Batman, crime, and mythos, my mind goes to Hush and The Long Halloween. A film using those as inspiration for how to organically fit a lot of Batman villains into one story sounds cool.

Though, this conversation just reminds me that I really want a Spider-Man film with a lot of villains. There's no reason why characters like Spidey and Batman can't fit like a half dozen costumed villains into a single film. Have an opening sequence with a throwaway villain, use some as minions of the big bad, etc. There's no such thing as "too many villains," as some people claim; the problem people are really trying to get at is, I think, too much plot.

A hush film would be so awesome.

I’m surprised this opened lower than Wonder Woman. You would think it would attract the same crowd and viewers as that film at least.

That is an abysmal opening and is hopefully a sign that people are seeking quality in big budget films now with other high budget critically panned films also making less than expected this year.

You have to remember, this was going against a Thor film, that was really well received. I think if the circumstances were different, and it had no competition, it'd have made more money.

I honestly can't believe Wonder is looking to make $27 million. That blows my fucking mind.

2 week gap though. I’m sure JL was placed there with the thought that it wouldn’t affect box office numbers.

This is the sixth comic book movie released this year and without huge hype and so-so reviews, people are probably saving their money.
