I mean, the scene that they are in is so badass. I never looked at their costumes as sexual. I was astonished by how toned some of them were. I think the shots of them swinging the hammers to close the gate is about as stoic as it can get.

What exactly is Nolan’s involvement in this DCEU? I could tell he helped Snyder with “Man of Steel”. I know he’s been listed as one of a few executive producers, but I don’t see anything is this movie or BvS that screams Nolan.

  5. He left after producing MoS afaik

I really enjoyed it. Definitely felt it needed to be longer though. So many scenes in the previews/TV spots that didn’t make the final cut. Really hope we get an ultimate cut.

Hopefully the ultimate cut has a ton of material. This could have been 2:20/2:30

Yeah this is one of the few superhero movies where I actually thought it could've been longer.

When I left the theater last night I was shitting all over this movie. But now after a day to think I don't think it was so terrible. I'm just not a fan of Affleck's Batman, and the CGI at times was so bad that it was distracting. But Wonder Woman was great as usual and the Flash made me hopeful for future DCEU movies. And that post credit scene got me really excited.

Also I need to see the Ultimate Edition of BVS.

I enjoyed this more second time, personally. Granted I enjoyed it first time as well, I just think for round 2 I wasn't stressing over patched reshoots, and CGI, just took it for what was given to me.

Also, BvS Ultimate I think, is a much better experience. It's dense though, for sure, ~3 hours of the brooding dark tone set in the theatrical cut, but does a better job at making threads between Clark, Bruce and Lex.

The Ultimate Cut was the slog I forced myself to watch the other night.

Honestly, they could us this movie as a relaunch. Keep a couple things, but they could change it all from here and I am willing to just pretend MoS/SS/BvS basically didn’t happen in terms of long term stories. Keep all of WW and this and just go forward. Leave the mopey boring heroes in the past.

  13. It seems to be what they’re doing, right?

The last third definitely feels like the relaunch, or the team going forward.

Looks like it. I don’t think literally anything from SS is referenced or even alluded to at all. The stuff from MoS/BvS is mostly the stuff that they had to touch on. WW is very much in.

The total change in tone and color palette indicate a shift. There is a ton of humor and fun vs the basically one joke per movie in MoS and BvS.

This had a lot of flaws. But it was kind of a fun mess and as I said right after I saw it, I want to see way more of these characters and their world. I don’t think this is really a spoiler, but... I fuckin loved Superman in this. Could not say that until this one. Felt good to enjoy him on screen.

I also said the other night that this felt like Rogue One in a way I couldn’t express yet.

I think my main feeling there is that it feels very much like a Justin League cartoon, kind of like how I thought Rogue One felt like an EU book.

They assume you have a working knowledge of these characters and world and things from there just exist and don’t need some big explanation of how it makes sense. It just is.

For someone like me who never really read the comics, I only picked up on some things. Would be cool to see a comic fan call out all the more subtle references.

One thing that really bothered me that I forgot about was the opening wonder woman scene. Her powers are so ill defined that I just assume she has super speed and flight now? That scene felt all over the place.

I don't think there was anything in there that wasn't in WW? She never flew, just jumped super high. She did that in WW. In the final battle of WW when Ares has the voice over, something like "Yes, Diana!" she's going pretty damn fast. Not speed force fast though.

For some reason I met expecting Batman to make The Flash like a more polished suit. Even though it did still look pretty good, I thought it felt very DIY. Maybe I was just looking too hard or it was easier to see in IMAX, but I felt you could see paint strokes on his suit.

What was the deal with Cavill’s mustache (or lack thereof) again? Was it an issue with the Mission Impossible he was filming at the same time of the reshoots? god that looked bad.

Guess the Victor's football scene got cut as well.

Batman’s line at the end, “I don’t not like...” was pretty funny.

Also I missed the final post-credits scene. Could someone explain to me what I missed.

I had that feeling about Flash's suit too. I'd like one that looks more like one thing, not a bunch of pieces together.

Cavill was contracted to have a mustache for MI6. Since JL reshoots took way longer than expected, it was up to JL team to deal with it. Besides Lois/Clark at the farm, and maybe Clark/Bruce talking at the end, I feel like almost all of his scenes had to deal with the stache...

Apparently Victor's mom was supposed to be in it as well. Again, hoping for a beefy extended cut.

That was a good line, my favorite was one Steppenwolf jumps off the Batmobile in the tunnel scene, he goes "He is tall." After Barry just saying he was afraid of "obnoxiously tall people."

Post credit scenes: First one is Flash and Superman about to race, to see who is faster. Barry thanks Clark for doing it and Clark says he's curious to. Clark says if he wins, Barry has to take the team out to brunch. If Barry wins, get can tell everyone he's faster than Superman. Before they go, they decide which coast to go to. Superman has to correct Barry, because he thought Pacific was actually Atlantic.

Second one is a prison guard telling Lex in prison to get out of his cell. He turns around, and it's not Lex. Cut to a yacht in Europe some wear, and a small motor boat approached. Deatstroke gets out and walks towards the deck. Takes his helmet off and he's played by Joe Mangiello. Lex says maybe it's time to start a league of their own (legion of doom.)
