Thanks, glad you dig it! We've been doing these for each comic book film since Logan (always editing them into the first post of the film's thread after they're posted). So, if you missed the Wonder Woman one and want more of specifically her, you can search for that movie's thread and check out what we recommended there.

Thor: Ragnarok builds off of the previous Avengers and Thor films, but it explains everything you need to know just fine, so it'd honestly work fine as someone's first Marvel film.

As for Justice League, honestly, it's a pretty direct sequel to BvS that hits the ground running, for better or for worse. So, I'd personally recommend that you at least read a plot synopsis for that film before trying to watch this one.

    and a millions screams...

So this is absolutely one of the things that Whedon changed right? and Most likely the reason for the CGIing of his face.

i liked this but i wanted to love it if that makes sense.

it definitely feels like a different director came in halfway through, first half feels like it was chopped to pieces and its pretty clear Whedon tried to make the movie more colorful than what we saw in the initial trailers. i actually liked Affleck in this more than BvS and his moment with Flash where he says "just save one person, thats all i want you to do" and Flash says "what about after that?" and Batman says "youll know" and then Flash realizes he has to save more people. Thats character development using only a few lines of dialogue and i really liked that. Sadly i dont really like Flash all that much barring that scene, Aquaman and Cyborg are alright but it feels like they shouldve had more time to be introduced and setup. Gadot/WW is still the best part of this universe imo. Superman coming back felt so anticlimactic and not as big of a deal as it should of been and while I still dont like this Superman very much hes better in this than he was in the last two.

Steppenwolf is ugly but w/e I like the Old Gods stuff a lot so I can deal with it. I like that theyre setting up Darkseid but also Orion who is one of my favorite JL members. Theres also a flashback where we see someone with a Green Lantern ring so i guess maybe we're getting a GL at some point? I hope its John Stewart PLEASE DONT DO KYLE RAYNER OR HAL JORDAN if we get one. I think they maybe tried to setup Martian Manhunter as well? idk could just be reading too much into it.

all in all it was fun and i hope this movie does well enough that we get more. id like to see this universes take on Atom, Green Arrow, Hawkgirl, Supergirl, etc. oh and the postcredit scene where Superman and Flash race was cute i want more stuff like that

I should be seeing it Sunday. If you see any news reports of a “Chicago area man arrested for throwing food items at a movie screen” you will know things went south really quickly.

  9. This movie suffers from feeling thrown together and too much CGI, but the team is so fun and there are so many great moments that I can overlook the flaws a bit. I had a lot of fun watching this and can't wait to see more.

Great to see the Superman arc come full circle like this. I laughed and absolutely loved the shot of him carrying the building as Barry looked on ha.
Favorite line of the movie: "This isn't the plan." "No Mr. Wayne, it's the team."

First half was pretty rough with some bright spots sprinkled in. I thought it found its footing late and overall, I had fun.

There are a lot of issues -- some big ones are the CGI.

Cavill should be pissed. He looks like he underwent bad plastic surgery in most of his scenes. Steppenwolf looks to fake. Cool look, just nothing but CGI./

Steppenwolf is weak but this was one movie where I really just wanted to see the heroes... and the heroes done right. For the most part, I really dug them.

  14. Steppenwolf is about as thin as Hela in Thor Ragnarok, but Hela benefited from not being completely CGI and being played by Cate Blanchett.

  15. Disregarding that my unpopular ranking would probably be MoS>BvS>JL & WW>SS, this is pretty hilarious. Fucking Armond.

Agreed. He's on part with 99% of the MCU villains but suffers from looking to fake.

"This is the kind of film which, by comparison, Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin is a masterclass in coherence, in character development, in razor sharp storytelling."

First half of this was a drag. Third act was a ton of fun.

  22. I'm curious what all got cut. One of my favorite shots from the trailers didn't make it.

Was all of the Cyborg stuff in the first trailer or was that BVS? It felt like he should have had more build.

I can't comment on whether it fits this film but judging from the abysmal efforts that were MoS and BvS I can't say I am all that surprised.

Second time around was better IMO, way less stressed about focusing on CGI issues and reshoot stuff.

Still don't know why all Steppenwolf close ups could not have been practical effects.
