That's pretty much what I expected. I'd rather have stronger focus on the League than the villain, though in a perfect world it be a perfect film, but hey, if the general masses can say "it's okay, I had fun" I'll be satisfied. I loved BvS so....
The best thing about these reactions is that they're mixed and not hyperbolic, which should, in theory, give more credence to the compliments. Sounds like this struggles in areas that I expected and don't mind while succeeding where I most need it to. Which is a roundabout way of saying I'm pretty solidly in the "excited" camp right now. I could totally see myself leaving this ready to watch it again, which is a major win for any comic book film. Also, I forget if I said this already, but the clips I've seen make me so happy Whedon got Elfman to score this. There's something so traditionally superheroic about that style, even before getting into that use of the Batman theme in one of the released clips. I can't wait to hear what he did with Superman's return.
Good to hear Cyborg is cool. His character was the most up-in-the-air for me as far as not knowing what to expect. On the other hand, my fears about the shoddy CGI seem to hold true.
Sorry for spamming the thread with tweets, but I like these movies a lot and want people to be excited. Hmm Sciretta says Cyborg is a miss. Here's a negative reaction
Sounds about what I expected for the most part - the League itself and a lot of the action is good, the rest not so much. Will see next week.
"Uncanny Valley Face" is a scary description. I hope that happens in few enough scenes to not be an issue.
Yeah that's the only thing that's made me kind of on alert after these tweets. Wouldn't it just have been easier to shave it and have a fake stache for the other film? Upper lip movement seems kind of critical for human emotional behaviors.
Gonna have to try to see this Thursday night so it doesn’t cut into my Punisher binge over the weekend.
When Steppenwolf was named the villain, I knew not to expect anything great in that department so it’s not surprising. It’s still crazy to me the long list of great villains he’s beating to the screen.
"Fine" is about what I expected from this movie It may just be the parts of the internet I go on but I still am seeing almost no hype for this movie and it's really weird
Movie Landing Here are (or were) some fan screening passes to see JL for free in advance. Most of these have sold out, but maybe a couple of you can grab a pass like I did for Boston (which also has been filled up, sorry)
It rules. Love "Friends and Foes" so much. Can't remember which track but it goes full steam into that classic Elfman Batman score and it's awesome.
cautiously excited. love DC, huge fan of the DCAU, really disliked MoS and outright hated BvS but WW was a great step forward. I do wish we'd gotten a better green lantern movie since hes my favorite DC character, I'd prefer John Stewart over Hal Jordan any day though. High hopes but still cautious after being burned so hard by BvS.
Everything is in terms of how long it is until I can see this. I literally think of plans after this Wednesday night as "I wonder what things will be like after seeing this." My girlfriend hates me right now. Anytime she asks me a question I just answer "the world needs Superman, and the team needs Clark." That was, in fact, my response to her asking me to take the trash out this morning.
