They've also released three new clips including a scene that plays the Elfman Batman score. I need to stop watching any and all clips/marketing. It's like in overdrive now.
I'm someone who loves eating up pieces of a film I'm excited for. But, even barring that specific personal preference, it's so wild to me that we can get so close to the film knowing so little about just the basic premise and central conflict. Going off just trailers and posters, I don't think I could tell you anything about this film; for people on the fence about a film (so, most people after BvS), that's awful.
BvS trailers showed the entire movie pretty much. I'm loving the marketing for this in comparison. Man of Steel trailers did it right as far as leaving so much unseen martial for the actual movie.
There’s a clip of Steppenwolf that seems to be from a foreign advertisement. I understand why they are holding back.
Here's a pic of him if you want to see... https://i.redditmedia.com/lz8aiI4pe...jpg?w=1024&s=9ddfeed34c8b0a2d4f75897de8bbc6d3 Here's the clip with Steppenwolf.
Having rewatched Thor: Dark World (which I like more than most people while still recognizing its flaws) recently in the lead up to Ragnarok, I'm kinda wondering if much of what I like and don't like about that film end up also being true here. Steppenwolf seems similar to Malekith in regards to being a thoroughly unengaging villain with an aesthetic that dances between super cool and super drab. Hopefully the cast has enough charm and chemistry that, when paired with some cool visuals (love the bold red, which also reminds me of Thor 2, lol), ends up making me enjoy this film. As negative as some of my posts are, and as much disdain as I have for Snyder's other 3 DC films, I'm actually more optimistic than pessimistic about this film. I actually could see this barely knocking Homecoming out of my top 5 comic book films of 2017, lol.
Last time: OMG THEY SHOWED THE VILLAIN WHAT ARE THE DOING?! SO MUCH FOOTAGE! This time: OMG THEY DIDN'T SHOW THE VILLAIN WHAT ARE THEY DOING?! NOT ENOUGH FOOTAGE!
I really doubt anyone upset about a villain being shown in the past is now upset that they haven't this time. More so, there are people who want to know nothing about a film beforehand, and there are other people (like me) who find that overreaction to "spoilers" really dumb. Like, wanting to see who/what this team is assembling to vanquish in the trailers, even if we're not seeing every detail of that threat, shouldn't fall into that weird, vaguely defined "spoiler" territory. *shrug*
Should I go find the posts? Cause I don’t wanna do it. I’m not saying the exact same people said different things, I’m saying someone always wants to complain.
Who's posts, mine? 'Cause I'm the main one asking to see the villain right now, and I can't think of any instances where I've ever been disappointed by seeing a villain too soon.
There was for sure major backlash when they showed Doomsday -- from myself included. I really hated that. They are doing it right. I liked the WW marketing focusing on her and not Ares or whatever. This is smart IMO.
Ezra Miller describes a Flash deleted scene from ‘Justice League’ Almost all but confirms a director’s cut, right?
I LOVE this. One of the reasons I love Ben in this role, and hopeful for the direction of JL. He's been really reminding me of Animated Series Bruce. Obviously don't watch if you want to go in blind, but there aren't really any spoilers.
Bruce's assessment of Clark here is wonderful and makes me all the more optimistic about Superman going forward.
Not sure why, but hearing Bruce say "Clark" was really something to me. This week is going to be a long wait.
