Since comparisons to the Homecoming trailer have been brought up; this article compares both and sums up my views pretty well.
That's fine, I'd rather save the drama and story beats for the actual movie. Like The Force Awakens trailers, just give us flashes of stuff that will get everyone pumped for a good time and keep the story mostly secret. The rest of the JL trailers need to keep this up and don't BvS us.
My take: New Homecoming trailer does not show too much. New Justice League trailer does not show too little. One shows a lot more than the other (and is also the second trailer for a July film vs the first for a November film, so weird comparison, lol), but both do a decent job of capturing what film's story and tone probably will be, and neither tells you everything about the film.
I don't think the point of a trailer for a movie like Justice League is to give a synopsis. At least not with the first(?) official trailer. To me, the marketing is more about showing the League together.
I didn't realize jj abrams was directing JL haha. but yeah I legit like the poster. but I wish DC would do more to recreate JL comic covers. just feel like they could be more creative
Remember when I railed against the overly zealous anti-"spoiler" crowd that wants the villain reveal saved for the movie, saying that this approach often leads to some anticlimactic merchandizing reveal? I'm so glad our first look at Steppenwolf in Justice League (unless you count that deleted scene from BvS) is a LEGO set.
Hasn't Lego generally been the biggest revealer? It feels like they've been the first in a lot of situations. Ant-Man, Jurassic World, and AoU all had pretty significant reveals via Lego. I feel like those reveals are so negligible. Doomsday was a pretty shitty trailer reveal. Glad we haven't had much of a big bad reveal for Guardians or Wonder Woman, though they might not have a very defined one.
Do you think Steppenwolf will look like he did in BvS or more human since they have casted an actor for him?
