I'm like 99.999% sure the flack for Doomsday was because people didn't like how he looked, not because DC put him in a trailer. If a character is gonna look bad, a trailer reveal vs a film reveal isn't exactly gonna make a big difference. And, yeah, I know not everyone looks at toy designs, but in this click-bait-infested, update-hungry superhero film environment, it's gonna get out there before the film drops. Might as well go out of your way as a studio to make that first look leave an impact. And, if the design isn't one that will get people excited, fix the design. I highly doubt that Superman's role in Justice League will resemble Luke's in The Force Awakens. It'll probably more closely resemble Vision in Age of Ultron, and a brief look at Vision was in one of those trailers. I think that's a reasonable approach. I mean, there's a near certainty that the Codex is how Superman comes back to life, right? lol. And, his resurrection in the comics took a while, so that end of BvS was definitely just the beginning of the process. The "Further Reading" post totally should've said, "#6 will surprise you!"
Wonder Woman looks the best. Cyborg looks the worst. I'm not sure what's up with Batman's bat, but otherwise, Batfleck continues to look cool. Aquaman looks awesome, but as cool as his armor is, I kinda wish he were still shirtless. I'm still mixed on armored Flash. This has been another installment of Tim opinions.
I've watched that Flash teaser like a dozen times. So excited to see him zipping around on the big screen.
If he could/would film and make action look as pleasing as that scene with Diana kicking butt there in whatever building that was, I'd dig it. Making everything so drab and environmentally fake for the large action set pieces (e.g. the Doomsday finale in BvS) is unpleasant.
I think it looks awesome. But I will say I'm really tired of trailers backed by a radio track. I want to hear an epic soundtrack backing the JL. Could've been a much more elegant trailer while still showing it as badass and fun in my opinion. That's my personal taste. But I'm stoked to see the JL on screen together. I also prefer real set pieces and not so much cgi, but it is what it is. That doesn't ruin it for me.
can we have like a 10 year moratorium on using White Stripes songs in trailers plz also that god-awful Come Together cover jfc
I agree that the aesthetic of the major battle seems terrible. Way too much going on and not focused. I like the character elements we see with Vic playing football and Barry talking to his dad, but I'm sick of the Snyder look.
Looks solid. I was wondering if they were going to go straight into the invasion or not and they appear to be. I want Darkseid
Looks like it has a slim chance of being good, a very slim chance. I'm still going to see it but my expectations are very low. The trailer was just a big cluster of action scenes and nothing else.
Generally, the trailers have been fairly good for the DCEU, but the movie is always a different animal. But, it does look like it could be good.
It's a Zack Snyder superhero movie. We have three of them, at this point I'm not expecting much better than he's offered.
