He’s currently shooting a movie called Rebel Moon, which is a big space epic based on a pitch he had for Star Wars a decade ago but reshaped into its own property. His buddy Ray Fisher is in the cast. I think that kinda energy is great. It’s like when Marvel artists have created thinly veiled analogues of characters for their own Image comics. Or, when Barry Windsor-Smith took his 80s pitch for Hulk (with ideas that eventually trickled through Bill Mantlo & Peter David into the Ang Lee film) and published it through Fantagraphics last year as Monsters.
