He was solid in the man from uncle last year. If he was allowed to be half as charismatic as he was in that film when he played Superman, it would change so much.
Well you guys are the ones coming in here to complain lol. But you said shouldn't be in charge of these types of movies. I don't know what other types of movies his style is suited for.
Something where there are no characters or story. Or more reasonably, as I already said above, he should be in charge exclusively of visual parts of the movie with a real director over him.
The one where superman throws an actual punch, isn't a dead beat dad and has an actual story lol. That one is better.
I'd be OK with that, other than not calling him a real director ☺ I do think he'd make a hell of a producer though and most people would probably be more ok with that.
its a toss up. Plus, I haven't seen Returns in a long time. Which is why I am not gonna take a hard stance on it.
The best Superman film is one that hasn't been made yet that floats somewhere between the original Superman, Superman Returns, and Man of Steel.
A real director, or maybe better put competent director, can handle both visual and story/characters and such. Snyder clearly has massive issues when it comes to anything but visuals. Which is fine, but the problem is that he is given free reign over all and it gives us these messy movies.
I thought he did great when he had free reign on 300, Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen, Owl movie and MOS though. I think the messy stuff came in with BvS because of all the stuff he had to include into 2 hours. Sucker Punch I think he wanted to do something new and original and got lost doing so. Still looks very beautiful.
Has anyone mentioned the rumor/possibility that Superman will don a black suit on Justice League? I'm not very familiar with the source material, but I'm fairly sure I remember seeing him in a black suit.
I dunno, I dig it. The only thing I can compare it to is the tv show one, which looks great and works for the show. I think it would look so cheesy in the movie next to everyone else though. It works.
And we've seen it in action a little bit in the trailers and Suicide Squad, it doesn't look as stiff as I would think if I just saw the pictures.
It looks a lot better here and in the limited footage we have than I initially thought it would, but I still don't care for the armored decision. Between Spidey in ASM2, Captain America in Avengers, Batman in BvS, and CW suits like Supergirl and, well, the Flash, we know that a cinematic costume more in line with the comics that looks good is possible. Maybe he'll get an upgrade between this movie and his solo movie.
