I used to hate baseball. The reason I like it now is because this is the second time I've moved to the urban core of a big city and that city's baseball team went the fuck off and started winning a lot. It's hard not to get wrapped up in the area's sports culture / hometown pride when you are really loving living there yourself.

The Braves are excellent this year and the Orioles were excellent in 2013 when I lived in Baltimore (and immediately sucked again when I left)

LIke, my timing is good i guess, mediocre teams get a breath of life when I move to their city

Sadly the team I root for is one of those cultural appropriation teams

that Native American team name thing gotta stop unless they're willing to donate money toward the Natives protesting oil pipelines in court. "Braves" is not as blatantly racist as "Redskins" but... still lite-racist when you consider all the white people at those games still do that chant / chopping motion while we still treat that whole class of people like they have fewer rights
