@Ken we're going to be in Philly next Friday and Saturday, have a wedding Saturday night but we have no other plans. We'll be in Portland Maine the following Friday and Saturday.

Well, Philly has a ton of cool museums, restaurants, and bars. Depending on where you're staying, there's probably gonna be something awesome nearby. I highly recommend Monk's Cafe. Outstanding burgers & beer selection. Lots of good pizza in Philly too. The Reading Terminal Market is a great spot to checkout. I suggest you try a real cheesesteak or even a roast pork sandwich if you haven't been to Philly before.

Portland I've only been to a few times, but I can definitely suggest some places to eat. Eventide for oysters/seafood. Duckfat. I've heard Miyake is cool.

There's really cool rooftop bars in Newport, RI where you can have a drink and a snack and watch the sunset over the water. Like The Viking. There's a bunch though, so a quick google search will help you.

I don't really know Boston.
