I really wanted a Tegan and Sara shirt when i was like 13 and my mom wouldnt buy it for me cause they were gay. so i asked my dad and he got it for me. I wish i still had that shirt

 

Interesting that your mother knew.

I don't think my parents ever paid much attention to who I was listening to. Sometimes my father would be like "pop in the cd" after we visited a music store for the drive home. Mostly the point was to see if it was someone he could listen to. It's how he got super into Butch Walker.
