I feel a bit better about it then lol. I’ve been wanting to switch up guitars, I want to get a Tele so I guess I’ll do that and get a ok amp and a reverb pedal then

 

Teles are sweet, a Tele is my main guitar... but for noisy genres I’d rather get a Jazzmaster or some form of hollow-body. It’s comparatively hard to get noisy guitar sounds out of a Tele, since they are so crisp and clean sounding and they don’t have enough bass / low midrange to them to get those squeals going.

Hollow body guitars especially can get real noisy, the echoes inside the guitar actually bounce back to the pickups and create feedback really easily.

A jazzmaster is kinda the best of both worlds, it’s set up in a way that gets harmonics to come out strong but it’s also got that nice sharp, jangly, springy tone to it. And you have more options to fuck with the tone between the whammy bar and the two extra switches for the pickups.
