I get why bands sound like that on their first album... every vocalist has to start somewhere. But the fact that pop-punk singers continue to artificially give themselves a nasal, childish inflection deep into their careers at age 30 is so stupid. Bad vocal technique isn’t a “style”, its just bad technique and it sounds bad. And legit most people’s voice isn’t actually like that they just continue to disingenuously try to sound like early 2000s emo in goddamn 2019. Like, it’s okay to sound like an adult when you’re an adult lol if you feel like that’s gonna alienate your fans then you need to branch out.

Easily the worst thing about that genre. Yeah I take bands who sing like that a lot less seriously cause it was a bad trend to begin with and it’s been done to death. It’s so cheesy and so cringy and so unoriginal. No one needs more bands like that, band after band after band has already been signed and toured the US with godawful whiney vocals lol. Be like Title Fight or Modern Baseball and break that trend.
