There’s a guest artist at the place I’ve wanted a tattoo from with openings this week and I like what I’ve seen on his IG.

I have a bunch of different ones I’ve wanted from a few artists in SF. But they’re all like booked up for like ever.

All I can say is it’s worth it to wait if you have to. But I totally get having that itch to get it now. But if there is an artist available now and you like their work then fuck it, do it.

Yeah. Like I’ve been waiting on the ones I like, but also too nervous when they have had openings. This could be what gets me used to it. I like the persons work and it’d one that doesn’t require a lot of prep like some of my bigger tat ideas.

 

I want a Lovedrug tattoo. Their little ghost and some lyrics around it. Also want a Circa Survive one.

My future hope is a cyberpunk-themed like sleeve.

Dude I have hella tattoos and I still get anxiety talking to artists. Every artist is different and I never know what sort of etiquette they’ll expect. I’m sure you’re good.

That's reassuring! I'm always the most anxious before embarking on something for the first time since I don't know the process and whatnot. I've been thinking about tattoos for a while and have been trying to find someone to give me my first one after talking with my boss to make sure he wouldn't care (his words: i mean if you get a forehead tat saying "fuck the man" you might get some questions, but idgaf either way)

Dang! How long would a smallish piece maybe take? Like 3-5 inches? Just curious if you might have a rough idea.

 

Really depends on the artist and the intricacy of the piece tbh. Kinda hard to say. I feel like 3-4 hours is a fair estimate. Color? Probably means more time

Fair enough. Thanks! We'll see what openings the guy has and how much he costs. some of the artists I like are $500 upfront and then $500/hr. Kind of hard to swallow for the moment, haha.

Place is close to my office, so I could probably dip out early or whatever if everything works out.
