My ideal JP reboot: the world thinks this shit is over. A plane/ship crash on a remote island, surprise there are a shitload of dinos. Movie is just those ppl trying to survive the island. Some do and then the world knows there’s dinos there. Sequel explores that but not as stupidly as jw2&3. Profit
for showing dinosaurs with a big budget, it's perfectly serviceable - I just don't understand why they went with such a cynical approach that flies in the face of everything that makes the 1993 movie so incredible there were so many more interesting avenues they could have gone down with a sequel trilogy it's a good movie, but the original JP is an all-timer, and they certainly had the resources to do something great
the more that I think about it, I do think that I held Jurassic World to an almost impossible standard, because Colin Trevorrow simply is not 1993 Steven Spielberg firing on absolutely all cylinders, but honestly, who is? that's some big shoes to fill I will say though that I can think of a few dozen filmmakers off the top of my head who could have done something pretty awesome in 2015 if handed the keys to the entire Jurassic Park franchise, but Colin Trevorrow was absolutely not one of them
I have faith in Gareth Edwards - this one is gonna be better than all of the Jurassic World movies and probably / possibly even Jurassic Park III. It's gonna break the streak.
This is still the best, but I always love the military showing up at the end out of nowhere with the title theme set to 1.5x speed.
You know, when I think of Jurassic Park, I don’t think of dinosaur related sci fi madness. I think of razor sharp writing and snappy dialogue.
