I agree about the trailer, but I'm hoping with the movie itself Gareth Edwards has some good stuff in store for us that someone like Colin Trevorrow was unable or unwilling to provide

yeah I mean, I like Gareth and one of my best friends loves these movies, so I'll see it. But low expectations as always lol

the only thing that makes me a little less bummed that they scrapped Trevorrow's version of Star Wars 9 Duel of the Fates and went with that JJ Abrams pile of steaming shit is how much of a turd Jurassic World Dominion ended up being, especially when you look at some of the cool stuff they made and then just scrapped, like that incredible begining.

I do honestly think Trevorrow Star Wars 9 would have been better than that shit we got though. I couldn't even finish that garbage movie.

my son will probably want to see this in theaters though, so I assume I'm actually catching this one there

Is this supposed to be essentially the 4th in the reboots? Like it’s just a progression of story and not an entirely new thing? Because it looked and felt exactly like the last several which were all very forgetful lol

Low key very bored by scientists, or agencies, or government or military led stories. I would prefer they went a Jurassic Park 3 story where just every day people get stranded on the island and need to survive lol

I still maintain that these movies would have been 1000x better if they just did the Netflix show my son watches Camp Cretaceous instead of recently-sexified Chris Pratt as a raptor whisperer

Yeah I’m sort of in the same boat as most. The only way I’ll be disappointed is if it’s somehow NOT better than the previous trilogy (a ridiculously low bar). The cast, crew, general concept, etc. has me cautiously optimistic.

Trailer was really fun though. I could do without the goofy one-liners but whatever. Still excited just like every other time lol.

Yeah I don’t like the design of the mutant dinosaur. But I dug the trailer otherwise. Looks cookie cutter, but I have no doubt it’ll be better than the last 3 just based off Gareth alone I hope.

I watched the trailer with a hopeful, open heart because the work Gareth did with that Godzilla movie was rad. And I suspect that moments in the movie will be cool.

But, unfortunately, I did not leave that trailer with any urge to go out and see this? Kinda just seems like another Jurassic World. At least Pratt’s annoying character is gone, idk.

I think the trailer was pretty good, I wasn’t sure what to think of the movie from what I heard about it but this looks alright. Looks like a solid popcorn action movie and the premise is actually not a bad one imo, a much better premise than those other World movies that’s for sure. I’ll definitely go see it, I’ll be happy if it’s full of like crazy dino action sequences like in the trailer.

Yeah totally agree with the Camp Cretaceous comments.

Hell give me 3 kids trapped with one dinosaur with no weapons a la Alien 3 style and id be up for it. We are just making the same shit movie again and again at this point.

I still can't get over the fact that with basically unlimited story options on where to go, they decided to base Jurassic World around the idea of people being kinda bored with dinosaurs. they looked at that sense of awe and wonder and majesty when Dr. Grant reaches down and turns Dr. Sattler's head and they both gaze up at the brachiosaurus eating leaves way up at the top of that tree and said fuck that, let's avoid that at all costs

    baffling

I'm sure I'll enjoy this enough but I am kind of laughing at the plot basically being a video game fetch quest. We need to get 3 samples from the biggest dinos and on the way you're going to have to get past the little dinos, good luck!

Happy to see they’re doing the river cruise scene from the original novel, and to see some staples (Rex, Raptors, Dilophosaurus and Spinosaurus) are back.

Not happy about another mutant/hybrid thing.

Really unsure about the tone/dialogue/everything else.

That whole bit of the Spinosaurus group being like attack dogs for the big water dino is like so stupid but awesome that I have to go see it.

Ha. Pretty much exactly what it is. Kind of shows the inherent difficulty of coming up with concepts and plots for this series though. You almost always need some sort of plot contrivance to force people into these situations again and again.
