Want to make absolutely clear that it was under no circumstances a serious recommendation.

It was between that or The Invisible Raptor.

 

Was unaware of the info behind that movie lol. I think I saw the trailer once and thought it looked mid

 

I kept getting clips of the Spinosaurus scenes from it on YouTube, I think because I searched for the JW: Rebirth Spino clips before that movie came out

 

I, like Grim, prefer Dominion to this because Dominion was solely dumb (and kind of weird) with one legitimately great sequence while this movie tried to be a Serious Reboot(TM) while also making another monster dinosaur and opening with the Snickers wrapper thing and introducing the Baby Yoda Triceratops thing, etc. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

Dominion may have had me feeling frustrated more often than not, but this move had me feeling nothing. It's as soulless as Dominion, but at least Dominion was also kind of shameless about what it was

 

Primitive War was great; I think they're making a sequel as well

 

I can't even fathom liking Dominion more than Rebirth - I honestly think Dominion is one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life, where Rebirth was a decent movie that I had been hoping would be great

 

There was an underground dinosaur market and it felt like a dumb SW prequel scene. They made an underground Dino market bad. Let that sink in.

 

That was the scene that rocked lol

 

But I also think Fallen Kingdom is the most interesting of these movies since The Lost World, so I don't expect a lot of folks to agree

 

I liked FK.

 

First half of FK is great. Then there is a steep decline. A cloned child? Why?

I think Jurassic Park is best when it doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, but just goes at a different speed. Jurassic World and Rebirth are my favorites after the original and they are the safest films.

 

If I set aside my childhood obsession with dinosaurs, I can honestly say that people should watch JP and JW and go no further.

 

I'd go with JP & Rebirth - you can ignore almost everything in between and everything still kinda makes sense

 

For me,

JP1 >> JP2 >> JP3 >> JW >> Rebirth > FK >>>>> Dominion

 

Swap 3 with JW

 

I don't have a strong opinion here other than the first one is a masterpiece & Dominion is a cold pile of diarrhea, but it does seem like everyone likes Jurassic World *A LOT* more than I do. it is such a poorly made movie.

 

People should just watch the original and Lost World to be perfectly honest. Lost World is not getting enough credit in here.

 

I was never a fan of JW but rewatching it recently it’s fun I’ll give it that. 3 has a lot of weird decisions that bog it down.

 

Definitely don't love any of the other films like I do JP and The Lost World. Lost World has a special place in my heart.

 

I’ll admit 3 is not great but it has a place in my heart for some reason lol

 

90's Spielberg doing a victory lap is fun to watch, plus him phoning it in is still better than most directors on their best day

 

Lost World is fun, but it’s a movie where during every re-watch I struggle to get to the end.

 

The Lost World deserves more accolades. Goldblum playing an almost entirely different Malcolm as a result of the shit he’s been through was always intriguing to me.

 

The best.
