Why are we comparing these two completely different movies?

 

Even as someone who liked this quite a bit, I really think it should be a stand-alone and not have sequels.

 

someone said they preferred it to 28 years later and now here we are

 

Some bad cgi and green screen here

some good parts too, but this felt like The Meg with dinosaurs

 

Nobody was hanging dong in this movie though so could it really be better?

 

A raptor with a big scaly ding-dong. Terrifying.

Meg 2 did have a T-Rex

 

definitely cast Statham in a jurrasic movie

 

Just saw this, can we just go full Dino Riders with the next one please?

 

So if they wanted to tease a sequel they should have ended with it being unclear if Duncan lived or not. I thought that’s what they were setting up and my dumb brain was like “oh so in the next one, they’ll discover he is still alive and they will need to go back to save him…”

 

Haha nice, seems like the direction things are going

 

I had a fun experience seeing it, my youngest daughter loves JP and she decided she was brave enough to go. The film was pretty much what I expected, I liked the numerous callbacks.

 

Didn’t like the product placement

 

Is the product placement worse than the IHOP in Man of Steel? Or Krispy Kreme in Power Rangers? Or Bud Light in the first Whalberg Transformers movie?

Well, Power Rangers was solid overall. They were all big releases. So, maybe.

 

Dolores was the best part of this movie

 

This was dumb and fun but better than the other JW movies

 

To be fair, I think the second Meg movie also understood the assignment re: B-movie monster fun.

The only spot where the green screen really showed some seams to me was on the cliffside. Especially when they finally land on the lip of the cave, they moved like little computer Gumbys.

 

it almost seemed like the actors were painfully aware of just how dumb it was. SJ was on autopilot.
