The should have just given us weird, fucked up if they're gonna go this far off the rails. This sounds awful. Almost surprised Edwards would go for it.
I'm withholding judgment until I see the movie... I will say though that a six-limbed mutant T-Rex that looks like a Rancor had sex with H.R. Giger or whatever it was sounds better than slightly oversized locusts.
I don't know, maybe I just have non-existent expectations for these movies, but I like the idea of a "monster" dino that was a result from an experimental fuck up. Sounds better to me than purposely making a mega-dinosaur with superpowers (multiple times) and then being surprised when shit goes wrong. Now if the plot, action, characterization, dialogue, etc. is shit like most people expect....then yeah it's gonna suck.
I am a huge fan of Gareth Edwards' filmmaking style and I have faith in him directing a big budget Jurassic Park movie. I thought it was disappointing that they went with the plot that they did for Jurassic World when there were so many more interesting and compelling places they could have gone with it, but ultimately it was the lackluster and pedestrian filmmaking that really brought it down. Even if this story is wonky or it has questionable plot points, Edwards is gonna direct the hell out of this.
Even though my expectations are sort of low, I still have faith in him to make a much better movie than the previous three. There will at least be great sequences here and there (t-rex in the river looks amazing). Can't expect too much, but I still think I'll be disappointed if he doesn't at least produce something better than the JW trilogy.
I actually liked the recent trilogy so I’ll definitely check this out. I’m pretty easy to please. But I do like to hate on things I like lol.
I don’t mind the bad science experiment Dino. Nor did I mind the indominus Rex. It’s an interesting idea for the franchise, they just need to actually use it right.
