First movie definitely has some all-timers. The dialogue of the two movies is pretty cheesy but in an endearing way IMO. I can't NOT like Jeff Goldblum or William H. Macy.

 

Jeff Goldblum is a national treasure

I guess I don't need to go back and finish FK...

 

I mean, there’s two takes in that. 1. Life is short. Don’t waste it on that bad movie. 2. It’s only one movie and I don’t like not finishing things like that.

I’ve watched it at least twice, so you know my dumb choice.

 

there aren't many movies that I have actually not finished once I decided to sit down and watch them - unfortunately, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is one of those movies

I like J.A. Bayona's other movies

(I remember watching Dominion by myself at home before I had to give up alcohol, and I was making martinis for myself, and it's a long movie and I got kinda tipsy. but I think being kinda drunk softened the blow of all the goddamn locusts though)

 

Jurassic Park - best by a mile
The Lost World - Nowhere as good but still has a charm to it
JP III - Lackluster movie but overall inoffensive
Jurassic World - Good premise, bad execution
Dominion - Too bloated, completely stupid as the (non) ending of a trilogy
Fallen Kingdom - Oh boy

 

I mean, it’s not unwatchable or anything. And something in the end is pretty funny by accident. There are worse ways to spend 2 and half hours or so.

 

I’d move Dominion up a spot or two, but reasoning is spot on.

 

my only minor quibble would be that I honestly think Jurassic World has a bad premise and amateurish execution. too cynical, and there are literally endless other ways they could have gone with it that would have been more interesting and more fun

 

this is legit bang on

 

JP - amazing
LW - underrated but hurt by the dumb San Diego part
JW - flawed but overall fine
JP3 - a huge step down from the first two but still more or less what I want from these movies
Dominion - idk the locusts thing didn’t bother me that much
FK - I have hated this concept since I was 13 and jp4 being about war dinos was rumored

 

At least Fallen Kingdom tries something interesting instead of rehashing old concepts and characters for cheap fan service. I would say the same about The Lost World tbh.

I really don’t understand how someone enjoys Dominion over Fallen Kingdom. We at least get a cool volcanic eruption in Fallen Kingdom

and Carnotaurus

 

I still say I liked when the dinosaur basically turned into Michael Myers and stalked a mansion
