Am I wrong in thinking that Jon Favreau could make a pretty good one?

I just read this review on Letterboxd.

“I still love this movie for what it is but what's the point of the Indoraptor when you have to aim a RIFLE and turn on an acoustic siren just to KILL a man why don't you just shoot the damn person it's way faster.”

i don’t know what’s more dumb, that idea, or the fact that I didn’t even think of that while watching lol i think this movie made me dumber. That really makes no sense

Let’s get Lars Von Trier in here. Really shake the franchise up.

Spielberg specifically asked for Trevorrow to direct Jurassic World 3

I really don't mind if he directs (of course, I've never seen Book of Henry), but jesus christ please get someone else to write it.

I can’t believe Trevorrow has been subtweeting Lucasfilm and has been all sassy about Episode 9... psh this movie and JW are so meh. He just rubs me the wrong way. I concur about the score, thought it was forgettable and Chris Pratt is so blah in these movies. There was a woman in my showing who would clap after every set piece and I’m glad she at least was entertained.
My mondo record came in so there’s one nice JP-related thing that has happened to me this week ha

Spielberg is a one of the most brilliant American directors of all time but even he can't make a halfway decent Jurassic Park sequel. It's not like he's immune to questionable decisions regarding his properties. Treverrow made a billion dollars with JW so why would they see any reason not to give it to him? Even if the only non-donkey piss movie he ever made was only semi-charming because it had Aubrey Plaza, Jake Johnson, Mark Duplass, and Karan Soni in it?

I have no idea what Spielberg sees in Trevorrow. This is like the 8th chance he’s given him.

The opening was tight and so was the volcano scene. Once they’re off the island it’s kinda boring.

I felt the opposite. Especially once they got to the house. Who knew I would enjoy dinosaurs in a fuckin house so much.

Spielberg did produce the Transformers movies. He is not as picky on quality when he won't get blamed.

There were so many stupid things about this movie but the IT guy walking off the boat pretending to be a worker on the boat and then showing up pretending to be a lap tech later might be the dumbest. God this fucking sucked.

I am not going to see it, but is it true that the film is setting up a sequel where a few dozen dinosaurs take over the world, as if the military would not destroy them in minutes?

Just got back. This wasn’t nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. I’ve accepted we’ll never get a good/suspenseful sequel to JP. Though this was fun, and the horror factor added in with the IRaptor/Creepy Mansion was welcome. I will agree though the score was very bad. It was used way too much, and didn’t do anything interesting.

This was a more interesting film than JW. Biggest disappointment was the trailers making me believe the mososaur was gonna be featured more.

The ending is interesting. It could be handled very well with a competent writer. So not CT.

Scratch what I said about the mansion being boring. The raptor notices the room filling with flammable gas and jumps through a window as it explodes like a Rambo movie.

Spielberg has made almost as many bad creative decisions as his great ones.

I haven’t seen this movie yet but I work at a theater now and it’s really funny how different the response is from this thread. Basically everyone comes out loving it. One dude even came up to me after the movie and said I “had to see it” because it “might be his favorite movie now”
