I hope Ellie, Dr Grant and Ian have important roles in the next film since it’s supposed to finish stories from the first film

Dr. Grant and Ellie are rekindling that love from the first one!

What was the post credits scene? I didn’t stick around

It was just a quick shot of a few pteranodon’s looking down over Las Vegas from the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris resort. Seemed like something they just pulled from the montage at the end of the film and placed after the credits instead.

I stuck around because I heard there was an extra scene. And 2 minutes before the scene comes on, all of the theater lights come on. And I mean ALL. Like cleaning mode or something. I literally couldn’t see the screen. I had to look it up on the way to my car. If this was a Marvel movie, people in the theater would’ve FREAKED. But it’s JW2, so it was just mildly disappointing.

Just watched Jurassic World. I think each movie has its postive moments. The I-Rex was definitely more intriguing than the IndoRaptor. Terrible writing in both but I like the second one overall a little more just because theres less bad cringy parts and better direction.

Wait you think the new one has less cringy parts? It was just 2 hours of cringy parts.

    Pretty much this.

The second viewing will really help me settle my feelings in comparing the 2. The first one fell waaaay down after the first viewing. The nostalgia was fun but repeated viewing found there was no substance beneath the nostalgia and it really feels hollow.

This one had a little less nostalgia in some ways, so I think my view will stay a bit closer here. But I agree with you at the moment, for sure.

Wait, I actually didn’t care for the I-Rex. The I-raptor was more enjoyable mostly because there was less of it so what it could do was a little more focused. I guess.

The next movie should just vault right into a live action Dino Riders.

    Die rad.

OMG this was so stupid. So so so bad. Just silly bad. Laughed so much at the "serious" scenes
Oh, lava melts dino bones in 2 seconds, but not their flesh when they stand under it like a shower???

Eh. I thought the characters in this were just lifeless. Claire and the kids in the first were both cringy characters with cringy dialogue.

Yeah I’d agree with that. I think they just did a better job of setting up the Irex to be more feared. But that’s probably because the Indoraptor didn’t have magic macguffin superpowers.

Oh god, just has a nostalgic flashback... for a brief period I lived for the cartoon and toys as a kid.

If you didn’t think it was sad when the brontosaurus was left behind as the ship left then you are heartless.

Hot take of the day: Im not a fan of Giacchino.

Everybody loves him and his work and Ill be honest I havent watched Up, Inside Out, and a lot of the movies hes worked on in a while, but the ones I do remember I find it very conventional and nothing that really enhances the viewing experience. I do love his Incredibles ones for sure but the rest dont do anything for me. I didnt even know he scored this until I looked just now because throughout the movie I was taken out of the movie by it because it just felt so cliche to me.

Giacchino does a lot of scores so not all of them will be winners. But the stuff he does for Pixar are all time greats.

It was the only emotional moment of the entire movie...until my friend said “Goodbye Buddy. Good luck finding your real dad.”

Yea, I was pretty unimpressed with the score too. Between this and Rogue One I haven’t loved a lot of what he’s done recently.

Saw this last night and it outright scared the shit out of me in places! I fucking hate jump-scares in the cinema (too damn loud!) and it felt like there were tons in this one. I'm probably just a sucker, but some of the stuff in the mansion with that indo-raptor felt like it was a straight-up horror movie at times. Was flawed but still entertaining.

Again, overall I enjoyed this. But it is fun to think about some of its problems. Like how letting them out is basically a death sentence for them. The military would just hunt them down. Especially with a T. rex already at a zoo and a raptor about to get into a neighborhood.

Like someone else pointed out, how they only sold for millions. It’s like there was an error in the script that nobody caught.

I had a blast with this. Head and shoulders above the last one, and probably the best Jurassic sequel so far.
