I hated this. The set piece on the island was fun, everything else was a slog.

This was fucking horrendous, and that's coming from someone who liked the previous installment. Opening scene was the only thing that even felt remotely like Jurassic Park, and even that has a giant asterisk next to it because of the stupidity of the character involved.

    Ugh.

I had a blast with this movie. sure some plot holes, and I get why some may not like where they went with the story in this one, but I really liked it. it felt pretty Michael Crichton to me. I'm definitely excited for the next one.

also, thank you for using some practical effects dinos mixed with cgi again!

One of the worst after credits scenes in recent memory. So, so stupid.

Also the biding started at 4 million for a dinosaur? 4 million is nothing... reminded me of Austin powers when he comes back to life and says "one million dollars" and everyone laughs at him.

I enjoyed it. The first half is waaaaay better than the second. I think I like this film slightly more than the first Jurassic World

Haha yea, the prices did seem really low for how unique and rare it all was. His grand total was what, 120 some million? Seems low.

yeah it was a cool image but didn't add much tease that the ending shots didn't already do. should've been an extra goldblum scene haha.

It was definitely an end scene that someone was like hmmmmm maybe let's put this after the credits! So silly

It was so low! Like laughably low. Didn't the bad guy already work for a billionaire? How is 4 million even anything to the bad guy

The ending makes no sense They didn’t have to release the dinos. They could have just opened the main door and let the gas vent out while they were still in their cages. Also, these dumbass characters should have been pissed that the little English let the dinos out since, ya know, they’re being released to the real world. Instead, they just shrugged it off.

Also, they just glossed over that whole “We’ve cloned a human” thing too. Like why even bother bringing that up?

My friend who is obsessed with dinosaurs and has loved every Jurassic Park movie said he didn't really like this. I may see this but after what I have been hearing I question if it is worth spending the money

Oh my god thank you. I just got out of this and that’s all I was thinking during that scene. Also yeah the human cloning thing made me very wary because it seemed suggestive of growing uncomfortably close to where they were originally going to take this franchise before they made Jurassic World. The idea of splicing human DNA with Dino DNA to make hybrid super soldiers was being kicked around very seriously. I’m basically picturing Street Sharks: The Movie. If the dinosaurs are loose in the world now, I have this...terrible feeling one of these Jurassic Park villains is going to come up with the brilliant idea that the only way to hunt down and fight the dinosaurs is to, you know, become the dinosaurs.

    Oh boy.

Oh and for a period of time there I kept thinking they were going to reveal that Maisie’s mom was actually Lex and that Lex had tragically passed away. Then when Mills was going on about how Maisie belonged with him now that her dear old “grandpa” was dead, it was because Mills was actually a grown up Tim who had become a total dirtbag. They’d cast an actor that kind of looked right for the part so that’s where my mind was going and honestly I feel like that might have been more interesting.

But no. We now have successful human cloning in this world too.

    and a millions screams...

Thank god someone else realized this. they balked off the leaked script ideas from pre-JW1 because of internet backlash. Then after the success of JW they basically said "fuck it, now that we hooked them in, lets use those terrible ideas we had before and people will shell out the money anyway because they liked the first one" [\spoiler]

And how did the big aquatic dinosaur and the flying dinosaurs end up on the mainland? By themselves? And how many dinos got free, like 12? Seems like they could easily track and capture them all but the movie treats it like it’s now the planet of the dinosaurs.

Also, my friend pointed out that if you have to point a laser and hit a button to get the indoraptor to attack, why not just use a gun?

Know what was great about the original? It wasn't about people getting eaten. They were chased, sure, and those scenes will thrilling and still make me nervous. It was not cartoonish "dino eats human" garbage. It felt real, haha.

I contend this series lost its way the moment that babysitter in JW was tortured and eaten by dinosaurs for no good reason.

Oh the original is the best for sure. But every sequel hasn’t really gotten past being fun dino garbage. So I went in expecting that, and that’s exactly what it delivered lol.
