Oh yeah JP3 is total trash but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it when I saw it in theaters

We can talk trash on JP3, but it does have “ALAN” and is a mercifully short 93 minutes long, mainly because it had no story.

I'm revisiting all the JP movies before I see the new one on Thursday, and I gotta say I enjoy JP3 slightly more than TLW if only because of how short it is in comparison.

Each sequel movie has its redeeming moments however, which is more than I can saw about the first Jurassic World. I just watched it again last night and what a piece of hot garbage.

I’ve grown to tolerate JW. That’s why I’m somewhat excited for this. Though almost 90% of the dialogue/character development in it is terrrrrible.

The script for JW is ABYSMAL. All the line deliveries feel like they did one take and felt it was good enough. Pretty sure Vincent D'Onofrio just showed up 30 seconds before the cameras were rolling and did the minimum amount of acting he possibly could.

It’s funny too because Daredevil s1 had just came out before JW, and he had such a strong performance/character in that. It was really bizarre seeing him in JW lol

Isn’t that what he typically does though?

Despite all of the countless flaws with every sequel in this series... I think what bothers me more about JW than the others is that the dinosaurs don't even feel like animals in that movie. I mean, I know it's supposed to be more of a monster movie than anything but having a raptor/t-rex tag team against a genetic hybrid dino where the raptor is literally riding on the t-rex's back just doesn't even feel like the same universe. Outrunning a t-rex in heals and then having it give a nod to a raptor after beating the big bad mutual enemy...like, they didn't even try.

JW had entirely too much cheeky/corny/bad comedy. The one-liners from Malcolm and Hammond/Nedry/Sam Jackson in JP1 were great, but the movie was an action/adventure movie, it was not a comedy. JW felt more like a comedy than anything else with nearly every line from Pratt being a snarky sarcastic corny remark, and Jake Johnsons character didn't have a serious line in the film.

comic relief is fine but there is a line

I think the comedy in the original worked because they at least had a few different layers to their personality, so it was kind of funny within the context of what's happening. The JW characters are as basic as possible almost to the point of being parodies. There's the "funny" guy, the emotional teenager, the lady who works too much, the evil army guy, etc.

If you think that's great, just wait until they bring back Owen and Claire with no further depth given to either of them, as well as nervous computer nerd, snarky dinosaur med person (who apparently was gay until they nixed her line about coming out), annoying English child and a whole lineup of cardboard villains.

So...it's even worse than the Jurassic World?

Absolutely. The new characters are bad and have no depth. The only new info we learn about Owen is he's building a cabin.

I mean, that's kind of what I assumed...but I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing that my expectations are that low. haha.

I went into this expecting dinosaurs to eat people, and I got that. I had a good time.

Based on some reviews and blurbs I saw, I expected this to be a piece of shit.

While it’s not amazing it ever gonna be an all time fave, I had a lot of fun with it and thought it improved some things from the last one.

Also, there is a small post credits scene.

The first one made such a funny and charismatic guy so dull and one note.

He’s much better in this one. Not the greatness of him as Star Lord or anything, but I think overall the characters were handled a lot better in this one.

Although, Claire is better if you kind of forget how she was in the first one and kind of take her as a new character.

I haven’t seen the first one in awhile, but I feel like what motivates her here is not seen at all in the first one. At first I thought it was a weird change, but it worked for me throughout the movie and will pretend this is how she always was.
