thank you!!!! might be kind of cool if they did a spinoff film that captured those events of shutting down site b
My son is a big fan of Camp Cretaceous on Netflix, and I still think that storyline would have made for much better movies than the Jurassic World movies that we got, especially Fallen Kingdom & Dominion. Would have been a soft reboot / turn in a different direction after Jurassic World, but that crew of CGI kids and their shenanigans are way more entertaining than Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard and the giant locusts. They still could've somehow worked in parts for Sam Neill, Laura Dern & Jeff Goldblum it they so wanted.
Camp Cretaceous is mostly great. Woulda been awesome as the sequels to Jurassic World. Can’t wait for Chaos Theory
I know fan edits are not very popular, but when my son asked if we could watch the 3rd Jurassic World movie on movie night I hooked my laptop up to the TV with an HDMI cord and made everyone sit through the dinosaur-only prologue and the T-Rex attacking the drive-in movie theater from YouTube. The prologue because that is how the movie should have started (sunrise / sunset, gorgeous cinematography), and the T-Rex @ the Drive In just because it was awesome, and both because there just weren't enough dinosaurs in the movie even though it was 2½ hours long.
Not even a fan edit- you’re describing the director’s cut, which is a much better movie than the theatrical.
I had completely forgotten that there was one! That would have been much better for everyone involved. Is the T-Rex at the Drive In in the extended cut??
Unbelievably refreshing to see a big fun monster movie with absolutely 0 twist or spin on the concept. I would love a Jurassic reboot that stayed in that lane.
I think some of the supplemental materials explain that all of the dinosaurs were moved elsewhere. The two rexes from The Lost World are in the Biosyn sanctuary at the end of Dominion, the Spinosaurus, some Compies, and some raptors are on Mantah Corp island in Camp Cretaceous, and a bunch of random dinos were just moved to the Jurassic World park on Nublar. That said though, there's still no good in-universe explanation as to why they didn't just move the dinos over there when Nublar was going to explode. There would have been no debate whether or not to move them to the mainland, and moving them to Sorna would have mostly prevented them from being pillaged and brought over anyway.
The Jurassic park series ended up going in very random directions. I would love a reboot of the original with a darker tone similar to the book or what James Cameron was going to do with it. We’ll always have the original movie, which is one of the greatest films of all time, so I’m ok with something different but JW2 and 3 weren’t it. I did enjoy Jurassic world despite all the CGI and product placement.
Thank you. I do not understand the thinking where you spend the millions of dollars and produce that beautiful dino-centric prologue and then just chop it for time when there is clearly so much bloat in this movie. Also, the peripheral marketing materials for this movie sold the idea that dinosaurs are a part of our modern world now so much more naturally and organically - and I would say enjoyably - than the movie itself. When you look at the brontosaurus at the snowy worksite scene along with the extra / marketing stuff, it feels to me like there was a version of this movie at some point that leaned into that type of stuff but they dropped most of it and went for more of a fast paced thrill ride.
