"The studio is deep into the development of an all-new Jurassic World movie and has David Koepp back at the keyboard. Koepp was the writer of the original 1993 Jurassic Park, famously directed by Steven Spielberg, and its sequel, 1997’s Jurassic Park: The Lost World." "Koepp is the veteran screenwriter whose credits range from the original Mission: Impossible (1996) film and the first Spider-Man movie (2002) to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) and last year’s Indy entry, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny."
I kind of appreciated it at first because it felt like somewhat of a bold swing. But then the rest of the movie happened and I realized it was just a dumb decision with no real thought behind it.
The last half of Fallen Kingdom fucking rules when it becomes a haunted house movie with dinosaurs. Give me that.
Fallen Kingdom is underrated and kind of it's own thing the same way The Lost World isn't just Jurassic Park 2. This whole trilogy kinda stinks, but yeah, Fallen Kingdom benefits from the risks it takes.
Jurassic World starring Chris Pratt, both as Owen Grady and as the voice of Rexy. But seriously, I'm in that group of fans who will criticize these movies to death and recognize how terrible they are but then turn around and buy a ticket to the next one for opening day and have a blast. So fuck it, I'll be excited for it, I guess.
Gotta be a fun prequel story in there somewhere about Hammond sucessfully collecting the necessary DNA and birthing the dinos before learning by experience how dangerous they can be with some of the park's staff and facility workers before Alan gets to the island. Covering up those first incidents, getting the park in shape just in time for it to all unravel again in the first film. That's the first thought that comes to my mind, anyways. Something darker and scarier.
David Koepp certainly is a safe hollywood screenwriter choice to attempt to fix the mess that Derek Connolly & Colin Trevorrow left. Not holding my breathe on it being any good, but at least give us competent dinosaur action
This has always bothered me, but what happened to all the dinosaurs that lived on the Site B island? They never address what happened to them after the events of 2 and 3.
didnt the first Jurassic World basically retcon 2 and 3? not that it ultimately matters if you can tell a good enough story, but i had thought thats what was happening.
All I ask is that they put the characters back on a tropical island. I don’t care about Europe, North America, or wherever Dominion was set. Not having the story take place on a tropical island removes a lot of Jurassic Park’s atmosphere.
