I'm actually surprised that this looks good, I generally hate the live action Disney they've been doing recently, but this looks really entertaining, hopefully seeing it on Thursday
I never watch these Disney live-action remakes, but I've been 100% sold on this since I heard about it. Good director, great voice cast, lead actor of the appropriate race, great-looking trailers? Heck yeah. Gonna be so much fun.
Cannot wait for Bagheera. Probably one of my most favorite characters, especially in the Disney universe
This. For sure. I saw this lastnight and really enjoyed it! I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it.
really enjoyed this. almost as much as the original. I now want to name all future pets after these characters, haha.
Didn't dislike it, but it's not high on the favorites list for Disney...which I guess is how I felt about the animated version. Are they doing additional movies?
I thoroughly enjoyed this. My biggest worry was that the 95% digitally created screen would take me out of the moment, but everything looked terrific. My wife is a huge Disney nerd and The Jungle Book is probably her favorite movie, and this made her cry multiple times. A must for anyone who enjoys Disney or the original Jungle Book.
there's going to be a sequel, plus Andy Serkis is doing his own version, plus all the other live action versions of Disney classics which will go on until we all die
Aside from the visual effects and some strong cinematography (particularly in the Scarlett Johansson sequence), this left me cold. Shere Khan, after declaring he wants Mowgli dead, just lazes around saying intimidating things before being left offscreen for most of the rest of the movie. Meanwhile Mowgli gets swept up into other conflicts that don't really intersect with his growth and he gets bailed out of them by others. There's no real investment aside from the surface danger, a snake wants to eat him and King Louie angrily wants something he has no idea how to get. So that was a bummer. Really did enjoy the visuals though. Strong voice performances as well.
this one is pretty much a live action version of Disney's original animated one, with a few less songs (but still a few key ones). whereas the other live action one was after Mowgli had already grown up in the jungle (if that's the one you're referring to).
